TMZ has learned Robin Williams underwent his highly publicized heart surgery and is recovering at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Robin postponed his comedy tour at the beginning of this month after announcing he needed to have an aortic valve replacement.
UPDATE: Robin's rep just released this statement from his cardiothoracic surgeon:
"Mr. Williams' operation went extremely well and we expect him to make a full recovery. The 3 1/2 hour heart surgery was conducted to replace his aortic valve, repair his mitral valve, and correct his irregular heart beat.
His heart is strong and he will have a normal heart function in the coming weeks with no limitations on what he'll be able to do.
A couple of hours after surgery, he was entertaining the medical team and making us laugh."

Best wishes to him and his family. I think he has to be one of the all time greats. I had tickets for the NYC show and am disappointed that it was cancelled but I'd rather see Robin Williams healthy and happy. At least he'll be around, I'll get another chance.
GOOD LUCK ROBIN AND GOD BLESS!!!
30 + years of cocaine abuse and now he has heart problems? Who could have planned for that?
I hate him and couldn't care less. The most over rated comic EVER!!!! He says nothing funny but because he talks fast people are fooled into thinking he is actually saying something funny. He's a good actor when he's serious...but as a comedian....he SUCKS.
He could not be at a better place than the Cleveland Clinic for treatment. The Clinic is the best there is. Get well soon, Robin!
I work at the Cleveland Clinic and we have been ranked #1 in heart surgery for a reason. He is in good hands. I wish him the best!
Yay!!! Now THIS is good news to start the week with. I hope Robin continues to do well and will soon be back in front of the audience/camera. He's the best!
since when is he funny?
he tries WAY too hard to make people laugh so much so that its uncomfortable to watch
