While you feel sorry for anyone who is deathly ill, I didn't like how Elizabeth used her illness during the campagin to try and get sympathy votes for John. That whole family is messed up. You gotta feel for the kids.

If I understand your comment - as a former supporter of JRE, he is right on the issues but he has a crediability problem now because he lied repeated about a private issue before he HAD to admit his affair. He has handled the whole affair issue badly. The reason being he was still seeing the mistres and child when he was exposed by the National Enquirer at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. He has a long road to travel before he will have an effective voice if ever.
We the American people need to become actively involved in the issues pressing our country. You can do this by calling, emailing or writing to our Senators and Congressman/woman. Congress and President Obama need to be held accountable by we the people.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight, since Socialism hasn't been proven as a massive failure everywhere in the world its been tried time, and time and time again. I agree with bongers, easily the stupidest thing said on this board.

bawhahahahah!!! So soicalism dosen´t work, take a look at example Sweden and Norway they take care of the poor and sick for FREE !!!. And the workers in those countrys gets five week off every year, and still make good money. And the countrys still are rich and companys like IKEA, Volvo, SAAB, Sony Ericsson a more developt there. Sorry, but the United States was founded on principles such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Not on we control your life, you have no liberty and you must take care of the lazy. I seriously doubt you would be ok with paying 60% taxes on your annual income to take care of lazy people you don't even know. I seriously doubt you'd be ok with being told you'd have to wait for a medical procedure for over a year, while here in the States you could have it taken care of in a matter of weeks. Socialism is only the next step to Communism. Any "success" you can point to Norway is attributed to one fact and one fact only, they actually DRILL for their OWN oil. While we're not even being allowed to drill for our own oil here, because hypocrites like you would scream "what about the environment!?!?! So for that, I will give Norway credit, but it kills your argument because I know good and well a liberal like you opposes such measures. Also, Norway is VERY strict on their immigration and who they allow in. If they had even a fraction of the illegal problem that the United States has, their entire economic and healthcare system would implode dramatically.

Socailism can work in a VERY constrained setting with a limited population. Beyond this setting socialism will always fail because those who provide the services will be far removed from those who recieve. Corruption and abuse will destroy the system, which it has time and time again.

But I like how you avoided listing the dozens upon dozens of other nations that have experimented with Socialism and failed miserably for it.
