The 90-year-old resurfaced at some event in L.A. on Thursday, looking comfy.
In the '50s, Betty and her husband were among the "Hollywood 19" who were blacklisted by the House Un-American Activities Committee.
Betty is Jeff Bridges' godmother.

I love her in those old musicals like On the Town and Take Me Out to the Ballgame. She was so funny chasing Sinatra around. Thanks for the update.
"An" event, not "SOME" event.
Better yet, why not mention WHICH event?
She looks better than that mug shot of The Big Ragu! We should all be so lucky to look that happy & healthy at 90.
Beautiful, smiling, and enjoying life at 90...wonderfully fortunate indeed !
Did she also play the mail carrier on Chico and the Man? The one who always came in saying "Mail Call!" ? I could be wrong, but seems like it was her or someone who looked and sounded like her.
Wait a minute,that's my house!:
I just adore her! Always seemed naturally kind and caring...an example of good hollywood....lovely to see her.
I adore Betty Garrett. In the 70's, I was in LA (first and only trip) with my mother. I had watched all her old movies. I saw her while we were shopping and was so nervous I just couldn't go up and tell her how much I enjoyed her. So, my mother, who usually was more shy about those things than myself, went up to her and told her she was there for me. Betty told her to tell me hello and thank you, and was very gracious with my Mom.
Class act is right. So good to see her.
she was great as the Taxi Cab Driver in On the Town with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra
