In his memoir, Aldrin discussed his post-NASA career battles with depression and alcoholism.
Collins never actually walked on the moon.
Armstrong uttered the famous line, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

@25 & 26 - Agree 100%. I hate ppl with such short-sidedness. Don't forget Velcro and the Dust-Buster were two other practical inventions created b/c of the space program.
#20 is a douche.
I can't believe all the nimrods who believe it was a hoax, honestly...........your idiots! Gheez By the way, they all look great especially Neil Armstrong!
#28 there is debate over whether he said "a man" or not. Although he intended to say it, there is no conclusive proof he did. Which is why the quote is written "One small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."
y hasnt man been on the moon for 40 yrs???

Because there's nothing there to go back for ya E-Bag. Conspiracy kook!
Additional benefits of the space program include miniturization. The camera for TV transmission weighed 700 pounds back in the 1960s. NASA had scientists devise a TV camera for the Apollo astronauts that weighed only 4 pounds. We have handheld digital cameras ourselves as 1 result.
Another benefit are all the weather satelittes. Imaging how many lives per year are saved by accurate forecasing of hurricanes and tornadoes!
You naysayers are lacking in imagination, so whatever!
Watch mythbusters people- they disproved the conspiracy theory. All their other evidence could be questionable because they performed it in a vacuum rather than in actual space, but the astronauts left a mirror-like object up there. The mythbusters guys shot a laser strong enough at the dark side of the moon, no reflection, but then they shot it at the spot where the astronauts were and the object reflected the laser back. Proof.
I just had my son look at the pictures you have posted of these courageous men, and for once Tmz u had something up that was actually interesting and not Hollywierd dribble!! Glad the men are still alive and well and it was a wonderful history lesson for my 11yr old!!!
WOW...SURE IS HISTORICAL...I THINK IT'S WONDERFUL THAT THEY WENT TO THE MOON AND 2 ACTUALLY STEPPED AND WALKED ON THE MOON...THE GREATEST THING IS OUR NASA PROGRAM..ALSO, IT'S TOTALLY FAB THAT THESE INFAMOUS/FAMOUS MEN ARE ALL ALIVE TODAY AND LOOKING IN GOOD SHAPE...IT'S A BLESSING, REALLY...YAY.........LET'S GO TO THE MOON!!! SO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!
Anything anyone could say wrong about these men should be placed into Superman's ZOD. The mirror like window that puts you into space with very little hope to return to earth.
These dudes lie like Walter Cronkite did. They filmed the entire hoax but were told to lie about it all these years. I think Bin Laden is hiding on the dark side of the moon with Elvis.
Yeah, that's the ticket.
Aging really sucks. Neil Armstrong looked like a kid back then, now he looks like he should be in a nursing home.
I remember being 4 years old, sitting in my parents' living room in front of our black and white tv, with my mom, dad and new baby brother watching this historic event. Even at that age, I remember being totally in awe of what I was seeing.
Incredible times! I am glad to see them looking so great! :)
TMZ you clearly dont think much of your reader's intelligence if you have to explain who it was who uttered those famous words.
Britney Spears might miss a lot more 'X Factor' auditions ... because she can! Simon Cowell gave Brit damn near free reign in order to sign the pop star to that $15 million deal -- but is it backfiring? We'll tell you what peeps on the set are saying.Plus, Chris Jericho's…
