Watley -- No Second Time Around with Shalamar

It's been 25 years since she left 70s/80s group Shalamar -- but according to Jody Watley, who referred to herself in the third person yesterday in DC, "it's 2009, not 1984" and she's definitely not hankering for a reunion.

1. I think she was hit by a shrink ray that shrunk her body but left her hair, earrings, and necklace untouched.

2. That 's too bad. I loved Shalamar, but I understand Jody Watley's position in this matter. I saw the show "Unsung" on BET and it talked about the fall out between Jody and Howard Hewitt (one of the lead singers). Jody moved on, had a successfully career apart from Shalamer and she's not looking back. I respect that. Love you Jody...you definately made your mark on the music industry. Thanks for the many great songs over the years. I hope to hear more!

4. Lolita, fyi - wigs, weaves and extention were originally made for white woman. In the musicals/movies of the 30's, 40's and 50's, many white woman wore wigs and extentions to make their hair appear longer, thicker and fuller. For example in the musical "Meet Me In St. Louis, Judy Garland (obviously) had on extentions/weave. ........Dang non-black woman and their wigs, weaves and extentions making it seem like it was all natural....and have the nerve to be credical of black woman who try and inhance there look in the same manner. Black woman just perfected wigs, weaves and extentions that's all.

Hold up now....If Black women perfected wigs, weaves and extensions, whats that matted mess she has on her hair? that is no where near perfection, she might as well go bald. I don't mind a sista wearing wigs, etc but that chit is whacked!

12. Thanks for posting something on her TMZ- I always thought the Grrrl never got the props she deserved. The whole impromptu questions thing was kinda silly, but whatevah, it was nice to see her.
And OK, I gotta admit, I ain't feelin' that wild shadt at the top of her head. She looks a mix of Erykha and Macy and uhm....pocket lint or something. I preferred her oldschool look--- that was HOT HOT HOT! Of course, J' could wear a band aid and still look saucy!

13.
Her Afro looks so natural and it beats the fake horse hair that black females wear. Look close at a negros head and you will see the fake hair and it only makes them unhappy because the fake horse hair is hot and itchy and uncomfortable. My black friend takes her hair off at night and she looks horrible and like a man and she scares me without her weaves and wigs.

14. Jody Watley is a beautiful butterfly that has received her wings. She has flown on from the cocoon of Shalamar. And for those who are totally in the dark about her, she has been consistently recording and performing for years. Get into it people. Or at least do some research before you make ignorant comments. Jody hasn't lost a beat, she has only crafted her artistry into something that works for her,,,WORLDWIDE.
