I'm surprised that none of you mention the fact that, at least for Brad and Jim Carrey, the beards are probably for roles. I always feel sorry for actors who have to go on the talk show circuit with some crazy hairdo. I remember seeing Tom Hanks on Letterman while he was filming Cast Away, and he looked crazy.
They all look like wierdos and whack jobs. You expect to find a connection to some isolated ranch house out in the middle of the woods with a well stocked woman-in-a-pit, and a firelace full of bones. Or some off shoot religious whackos with a congregation waiting to drink cyanide Koolaid
