Keeoui - you asked how many prescriptions the average person has. Well you have to understand that having a prescription and using a drug/medication on a regular basis are NOT the same thing.
But you want to know what's wrong with people?
Turn on your TV during prime-time and take a look at the commercials.
The top 10 symptoms drugs were sold for in the US in 2008 [according to pharmaceutical literature I read] were for high cholesterol, GERD, E.dysfunction, asthma, anti-psychotics, seasonal allergies, pain (not arthritic), antidepressants, anti-anxiety and epilepsy. Let's not forget arthritis, insomnia, migraine, ADHD, ADD, dementia, conditions requiring anticoagulants, glaucoma and antibiotics. I'm sure there's a myriad of other 'problems' that people have. Sometimes a combination of drugs are used to treat a condition.
