Tiger Woods -- Haiti Hero?

Tiger Woods may have finally emerged from exile in the name of humanitarianism, this according to Russell Simmons.

Simmons claims he heard that Tiger was getting involved in the Haiti relief effort and wrote the following message on his Twitter page: "heard tiger woods donating to send a cargo plane with a mobile hospital out there. Keep ur prayers high!"

TMZ has attempted to confirm with Tiger's people -- so far, no one seems to know anything.

If I can afford to send $100.00 (one day's pay)to Hiati, those with more should also send help. Take a look around, we are by far better off than these poor people, so have some compassion.

EVERY ONE CAN AFFORD TO SEND SOMETHING!

HELP THEM....HELP THEM....HELP THEM...PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!

Post#5-Buzz Well Said. My thoughts exactly. It seems the United States is always expected to step up to the plate FIRST.

Good for Tiger donating to the disaster relief. Now I think all the other athletes that made tons of money during their careers using performance enhancing drugs like A-Rod, Clemens, and others should take a million out of their funds and donate too. This is literally the time for these people to step up to the plate! Unfortunately their wealth will be held tight to their way of living and it will be the middle class tax payers picking up the tab based on Obama’s plan to help. While I know their country is in devastation and in need of help, it sickens me that we the USA are there immediately for other countries and we dropped the ball helping our own people after Hurricane Katrina, make health care almost unaffordable for citizens, pull money from education for our youth, almost eliminate funding for the drug epidemic going on in our schools. It is time our government to help it's own before pledging billions of our tax dollars to everyone else’s relief efforts!

To #8 - Patty0005, great comment and thank you for donating $100 to the disaster relief effort. I just made a $100 donation too via american.redcross.org. I hope the report is true that Tiger is helping given his enormous wealth...I challenge other super wealthy people around the world and those of us who are not rich to all pitch in and help these desperate people who are suffering greatly. Be thankful the earthquake didn't hit you!!
