CBS Reporter Sexually Assaulted in Egypt

2/15/2011 6:15 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

CBS News reporter Lara Logan was sexually assaulted after being surrounded by a crazed mob in Tahrir Square on Friday ... moments after Hosni Mubarak officially stepped down.

Lara Logan

According to CBS, Logan and her crew were covering a story for "60 Minutes" when they were surrounded by a mob of more than 200 people and she was separated from her security team.

CBS says 39-year-old Logan "suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers."

CBS continues, "[Logan] reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering."

Logan and her team had been detained by Egyptian police 8 days before the sexual assault -- and Logan had reported, "We were accused of being more than journalists, very frightening suggestions were being made. Suggestions that really could be very dangerous for us."

Pay no attention to #2. Just another POS troll. All it ever says is negative controversial things. Needs to justify it's existence I guess. Course there is no justification for it's existance so it's comments are like it's physicality, impotent. Should change it's name to no balls.

I'm so sorry this awful thing happened to her... No woman "asks to be raped and beaten". This just goes to show you that there are good and bad everywhere in this world. My prayers are with her in her recovery and to the men who did this to her.

"People fear what they do not know". eople should really lay off the Fox News and cleans their so called "brains" of the 8 years of massive, extreme brainwashing the Bush Administration has done. Speaking shamlessly and oh so ignorantly about a race and religion of people. WHAT does her being raped have to do with all the name calling of the people in Egypt??? Like I said before...rapes, murders, crime in general doesn't happen in the U.S.? Enough said.

OMG. And people wonder why rape victims don't come forward more often. After reading some of these comments it's no wonder. Nobody deserves rape - period. Nobody! Why the hell keep our reporters over there if a bunch of camel jockeys are going to beat them and rape them. Let them do whatever they want to each other - I don't need to hear about it. Sick and tired of putting our people in harm's way for the supposed "greater good". Tired of the US policing the world. Tired of reporters acting like combat soldiers, being put in the middle of hostile activity in the name of higher ratings.

Nobody deserves this, to those that would write that **** please give me your real name and I will make sure you find out what a gang rape feels like.

It is also not just egypt or the fact that they are muslim. That kind of terrible activity occurs here in the states and has happened on many many occasions.

Human nature is cowardly, barbaric, and disturbed. We are barely more than the animals we lock in cages. Sure there are people who would never engage in these activities, but that is because they have had opportunities and chances that have allowed them to reach higher intellectual and maturity levels.

Your average person, is nothing more than an animal that will take any chance they can to engage in debaucherous hedonistic activities.

Animals like the idiots; itchy_balls, superman, and mommy.

You can't just go wherever and do whatever you want and say, oh, I'm an American. Different countries have different laws and different customs. This is nothing over there. They couldn't care less about this women. These are war zones and uncivilized countries. They don't want you over there.

I'm so sorry for what happened to this woman. She was there covering something the U.S. was supporting. And this is what we get for our support?? No amount of oil is worth what this woman suffered.

To me this incident says we need to re-think how helpful the U.S. should be with this country and it's third-world mentality. Maybe they, along with some other places in that part of the world, need to figure out for themselves how to become a democratic, free, and lawful society.

This Jackie women from Norway should know about the epidemic of rapes there by Moslems. It is just the liberal media don't report it. Just Google it in case you know how do do that. And these rapes happen in Sweden, France called Tourneys and so on. Norways school system are either terrible or we have a Islamist troll here called Jackie,

Why is CBS sending a former swimsuit model into Egypt? This chick was detained and kicked out of Egypt recently. You would think she got the message to stay out of Egypt. She got assaulted? Somebody grabbed her butt or boob? She got fingered? Was she dressed in a respectful manner? Was she out in a large crowd with her flowing hair, revealing cleavage and wearing heavy news-chick makeup? And then being arrogant with her lefty leaning questions? Logan is an adulterer who had a child out of wedlock. Parachute journos like her should just stay home in their fancy apartments and mansions and let the real boots on the ground journalists do their job.

Four days for this horrible story to get out. The Duke lacrosse players were tried and convicted of rape by the MSM in less time. Watch the MSM spin on this gang rape.
