Nowhere does it say Jesus said to accept the homosexual lifestyle or accept any other sinful act. Jesus appointed Paul to preach and spread the gospel to the Gentiles. And Paul clearly stated that homosexuality was sin! You are clearly misguided.

ALSO Paul never says anything about homosexuality. He uses the Greek words "malokois" and "arsenokoitai" along with his admonitions against idolatry, whoremongering, perjury, drunkenness, revelry, and extortion.

"Malokois" as best as Greek scholars can understand it means "male child prostitute". I think we can all understand why Paul might be upset my people frequenting child prostitutes. But the word "arsenokoitai" has never been accurately translated by anyone. In 1958 someone, not a Greek scholar of any type, decided that it meant "homosexual".

So really? Paul doesn't ever say anything about homosexuality being a sin. Nice try. Play again.

Well, clearly you are in the "let evil persist" category. God was to live among the Jewish people, so everything they did was to be HOLY. However, Jesus also did show mercy.

Again, this is purging the evil from the Jews while God is in their midst. And again, you are clearly in the "love of sin" category. And again, Jesus did show mercy and forgiveness of sin.

WRONG. Moses permitted divorce in the Old Testament. But, Jesus and the apostles said that divorce was adultery and thus a sin, except for a couple of situations like unfaithfulness and, at the time, unbelief.

WRONG. Under Jewish law, the next oldest single brother was to marry the widow and, under Jewish law, the first-born son was supposedly the deceased brother's offspring. But, as illustrated in the Book of Ruth, this wasn't altogether practical since Obed was still considered Boaz's son. However, that was common custom by several nations at the time so that the widow would be provided for.

Letting evil persist and murdering people who've had sex are very different things. Unless you interpret the Bible literally, which apparently you sadly do.

Divorce, in the Old Testament, was NOT divorce as we think of today. It was not a dissolution of marriage by two people who decided that they were no longer compatible, or even necessarily a wronged party moving on with their life. It was a way for a MAN to get rid of a WOMAN that he didn't want anymore. Because she was his PROPERTY, not a human being unto herself. It was akin to signing your car over to a new owner because you don't want it any more. It was NOT what we think of as divorce today.

You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is in her customary impurity. (Leviticus 18:19) It's considered an "abomination" just as homosexuality is. Unfortunately for you the Hebrew word TO'EBAH (abomination) means "something that offends religious people". It does NOT mean sin.

Sure SOUNDS like people were marrying brother after brother to me! Or are you going to tell me that THIS passage shouldn't be interpreted literally? Only the ones that fit your particular agenda? And WHY should a woman have to marry her brother in law to be provided for. Why can't she just stay with his family and be a member of his household?

But the United States is not a nation governed by the Bible. Our nation is governed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Our laws were created to protect an individual's right to disagree. The Bible is clear on homosexuality it's a sin, however I'm not prepared on this Earth to be such an enforcer, if God declares it a sin then it is up to him to make Judgement when they face him. I happen to know some very lovely, very nice men who are gay, they are lovely friends and I prefer the route of acceptance and tolerance since after all according to the Bible there is no man or woman alive who is not a sinner lol!!
In the end we will all be judged, and really I'm not sure going before God and saying I was a suicide bomber for your honor, I blew up abortion clinics and killed abortionists for your honor, I murdered gay men and women for your honor would really get you a pat on the back since two of the biggest no no's involved there are suicide and murder!! Hi Emerald - at least you are accepting. So many are not. I am straight and have many friends of all backgrounds, who are outstanding human beings and the only thing I care about is how they are treated by those judge them in my presence. But my take is, if homosexuality is truly a sin (which I don't believe), there is going to be a helluva lot of Priests and other representatives of the Church in an extemely LONG line before everybody else!
