Casey Anthony Lawyers

Champagne Celebration!

7/6/2011 6:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Casey Anthony's defense team was SO fired up about the HUGE not guilty verdict in the child murder case yesterday ... they rolled across the street and started POPPIN' BUBBLY!!!

0706_jose_celebration_EXP3
TMZ has obtained photos showing attorney Jose Baez and his team having a champagne toast at the Terrace 390 restaurant ... located right across the street from the Orange County Courthouse in Florida.

Our friend Jane Velez-Mitchell was outside the restaurant doing the play-by-play for HLN during the celebration.

Of course, yesterday was a big day for Baez ... and Anthony ... who was found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter back in 2008.

0706_jose_celebration_sub3
Minutes before the toast, Baez gave a news conference and told reporters, "There are no winners in this case. Caylee has passed on far, far too soon. Two-year-old Caylee's death should not be lost in her mother's requital."

So, after making that statement ... still think it was OK for Baez to raise a glass in triumph?

If it weren't concerning a child, I don't think it would be in bad taste. But there's a little angel that will never get the chance to grow up. Just because this was a "victory" for them, it isn't a victory that a precious life was snuffed out before it could be lived. This case shocked the country, and they knew that their actions would be seen. Because of that, it is definitely a disgusting thing to do.

Crystal Crystal

I think they have worked on this case for 3 years and deserve a little toast as a task was completed! It was a victory for them!

Disgusting

I think they are just following the path of bad taste they have shown throughout the whole trial. They are being consistent. I cannot get over the fact that the American Justice system has done this AGAIN. OJ, Lindsay it is the laughing stock.

lisa lisa

Very bad taste. They don't really care about Caylee Anthony, it was all about winning. :/

Sudio Sudio

Bad taste in doing this publicly. They did win -and are entitled to celebrate - but should have been back at the office - behind closed doors. Such a highly controversial verdict -this is just inciting the whackos like Nancy Grace and her ilk.

No, not in bad taste. From their point of view they just saved an innocent young woman from the electric chair. The fact that it is a momentous career victory is icing on the cake. Every reason in the world for these folk to celebrate.

Who paid for Casey's lawyers? Did they do it for the exposure and publicity? Where would she get the money to pay them?

Casey Anthony has no idea yet just how much she i*****ed. I am sure she has been told, but it wont sink in until she is out. That woman will never be "free". She will always be reviled and on the move for the rest of her life. It is not enough. But at least it is something.

She is enjoying her "victory" now. Soon she will find out how hollow it really is.

Low class if you ask me, reasonable doubt? How? She was the last person wit the child, her car smelled of decomposing flesh, she lied, and lied, and lied, I say no other reasonable answer. Wonder what George and Cindy will do, if they take her in they will look guilty.....

@Andthat's the truth,

I was shocked at the verdict as well. Just pointing out what lawyers do after a big case.

They are just low class. We should not expect any better from them. Jose, Casey and Chaney will all make MILLIONS off of this with movies, books and interviews. I won't spend a nickel on any of it.

Nancy Grace, you did all you could. Hold your head high and move on to the next person who needs you!

No class whatsoever!! They got a murderer off and a beautiful innocent child is dead with no justice.
I don't know how any of the jury can sleep at night. Public outrage!!!

Anyone who *really* believes in this country's justice system and followed the trial without prejudice is celebrating too. I applaud the jury for a fair and correct verdict based on the evidence in this case. Period.
