Failed Actor

Arrested for Trashing 'Letterman' Theater

7/11/2011 7:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

A drunken, 22-year-old aspiring actor broke in to the famed Ed Sullivan Theater where David Letterman's "Late Show" tapes and caused $5,000 worth of damage.

Jimmy Whittemore (above) was busted early Sunday morning after police say he kicked in the theater's glass doors, trashed the box office and lobby, turned over garbage cans and knocked over velvet rope stands. He also allegedly trashed pictures, fans, telephones, and printers among other property.

The Letterman stage is padlocked so Whittemore couldn't get inside.

Whittemore was hospitalized briefly after his arrest for a cut on his head and was later charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Cops say Whittemore has no direct connection to Letterman or the studio and blamed it all on alcohol.

UPDATE: Whittemore was arraigned this morning and charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. He is being held on $6,000 bond and his next court date is July 15.

Now he's a failed actor with a record. I'm sure this will cost him much more than just $2000 in damage, he's going to rack up some court fines.

I believe that people do things "on alcohol" that they would have done anyway--but it makes a nice excuse for them, so they think.

Prepare for more meltdowns by actors who can't get anywhere because they're not related to anyone.

I agree with anony--the easiest way to become rich and famous is to be born to an existing star--than they can get all the acting jobs they want--even without talent, actually, mostly without talent.

"failed actor" at age 22?
Snooki may have found fame and fortune as an untalented drunk at an early age, but there is no need to write off this young man's carrer. He has a bright future as an untalented, intoxicated pop icon.

I'm confused. The title of this article says that this guy is a failed actor. The text of the article says that he is an aspiring actor. The Facebook photo makes him look like a moronic actor. His behavior at the Ed Sullivan Theater makes him look like a typical actor (after all, how many "successful" actors have done similar things, like trashing hotel rooms and throwing phones at maids?). So which is it --- failed, aspiring, moronic, or typical? Maybe someone at TMZ could actually do some research on this guy....

Brilliant career move - the bigger an ass you make of yourself the more people will want to give you work. Try throwing something at Leno's head next time.
