Bethenny Frankel

I NEVER Lied About 'Skinnygirl'

9/6/2011 2:46 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0905_bethenny_frankel_skinny_margarita_bn_tmz
Bethenny Frankel insists she NEVER misled the public about the ingredients in her Skinnygirl Margarita cocktail ... despite the fact it was recently pulled from Whole Foods.

Frankel just posted a statement on her website saying, "We would not sell anything that I don’t personally drink. I’m a natural foods chef and health is a top priority for me and my family."

She adds, "The Skinnygirl Margarita is made with natural ingredients and its label is consistent with U.S. federal regulations, which is why it is carried in stores nationwide and continues to fly off the shelves."

Bethenny concludes, "I built my brand on trust and honesty. I don’t take lightly obvious attempts to put my integrity in question. I will always answer your questions and concerns directly and truthfully."

As TMZ previously reported, Whole Foods yanked the product from its shelves recently ... claiming the drink contains a preservative that is NOT a natural ingredient.

Frankel told The Post, "I'm not making wheatgrass here. If I could put an agave plant and some limes on a shelf I would. [The Skinnygirl Margarita] is as close to nature as possible, while still being a shelf-stable product."

Bethenny Frankel would she lie? I don't think not with a product that has to jump hoops before you can market it. Hang in there Bethenny and send then money to another country.

Well, one thing for sure; they got the name correct. She is going to blow away at the next 10 mph windstorm. Good grief, that can't be "healthy" as she puts it.

How about the fact that her product "skinny girl" IS horrible!! I doubt any one has ever bought a second bottle. This product is marketed to people that have no clue what a margarita should taste like....Please Bethenny and Skinny Girl> GO AWAY!!!

Lts see who would you believe when debating Whole Foods, who is a giant in the natural foods business. Or some dimwit reality star that came up with a stupid name for some diluted horrible tasting drink??? Mmm that is a tough call.

While I didn't care for it, I did like Skinnygirl Sangria. And I wouldn't be surprized if those god awful CD's of "Countless Lack-of- Manners" were USA made. And what sweatshops are those "Squezze" aka girdles made in, did Jill pull a "Kathie Lee Gifford," too with overseas sweatshops manned by poor woman and child labor.

Go Beth--you rock Baby!! SG Margs are on the top sellers here and that is why Jim Bean considered the line worth 130 mil. They have not been wrong in the past. LOL, the people that think this margarita is not the real mcCoy is because they have no clue WHAT a real margarita is like and they are drinking it straight from the bottle like they would their plastic water bottles!!! It is like taking a chain saw and cutting a branch with it and it takes Sally an hour to do it, she complains, tries to return it and the clerk takes it to check it out and starts it. Hearing the engine run, the customer asks "What's that noise?" same thing, ya gotta KNOW what a good margarits tastes like before you flame a beauty like Beth, Sally.

All marketing aside. Reality TV propelled Frankel's success. The Skinny Girl line wouldn't be where it is without the RHWONY show. The same with OCC, Orange County Choppers. Even Paul stated that. It's good advertising, some of the best, but in the end, the quality of the product is what can keep it going and demand up.

The truth is, most food products have preservatives. Without preservatives, the product would go bad within days. When you bake cake or bread at home, you don't add preservatives to 'preserve' the cake or bread, so that is why your cake or bread only last three (3) days. After that, it becomes stale and mold continues to grow. Also, Bethenny sold her product to Jim Beam. Jim Beam is now responsible for the product. Blame it on JB.

I am mostly disappointed in Whole Foods. SkinnyGirl Margueritas?! Please! You have already sold-out to mainstream and become as common as Von's but really - we thought you had some sense in which products to shelve. But at least you held to a standard. Now can you just get rid of the "organic" cotton candy and CHEERIOS?!?!?

Anyone who believes Nethany Frankel is all about trust and honesty certainly never have seen her on the "real Housewives" shows that evidently made her famous. She is and Attention Whore like all of those women. She made her money and got her name out there through doing it. If you have ever seen interviews with her she is about as dumb as a box of rocks. Chef? I don't think so.
