Any American who has been to Montreal knows that Montreal's bagels are the best, by far. Not even a close competition. Having been to New York and the west coast, New York bagels are easily second place.

Having had both west coast and east coast bagels, I can say my opinion is east coast, NY bagels win. The taste and texture is perfect, you don't even need to add the lox and cream cheese, but of course I do anyway! lol! When I go back east I have 4 food requirements. Maryland crab, NY Pizza, Philly Cheese Steak and a NY bagel. Of course, I come back 10 lbs heavier, but it's worth all that exercise later for the delicious joy when visiting! lol!

You can get REAL NY bagels flown in from NY at Creme de la Creme bakery in Riverside, they're the real deal and are AMAZING! I am from Long Island and really missed the great bagels, not anymore, yum.
