Steve Guttenberg to LAPD:

Thanks for the Ride!

12/12/2011 3:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Steve Guttenberg walk of fame starSteve Guttenberg found himself in an LAPD squad car earlier today ...  and was hauled down Hollywood Blvd ... but TMZ has learned the "Police Academy" star set the whole thing up.

Guttenberg was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this morning ... and law enforcement sources tell us he was REALLLY into the idea of arriving in a cop car.

We're told Steve called in a favor from the boys in blue ... who helped make Steve's wish come true.

So, congratulations hookers and homeless people in Hollywood ... you now have a new celebrity to crap on.

Small Chested and Loving It!!

I think Steve Guttenberg was a good 80's actor. But what makes him even better as a person is the work he does for all of the foster children aging out of the system. He has provided them with support that allows them to stand on their own two feet. Steve is awesome and I wish him the best. All of you haters need to shut up!

Good for him. He's one of the nicest guy's you'd ever meet, and I'm sure it was quite an honor for him.

Thanks for all the laughs, Gute.

Woody McBrreairty

There was such a heavy downpour or rain that the ceremony reminded me of a funeral huddle. I'm sure the rain was responsible for the smaller-than-usual turnout but Steve was having a ball. "Cocoon" is one of the most memorable movies of all time, and he has other very still popular classic type movies like "Police Academy" "Diner" "3 Men & A Baby" etc. Steve is also a great humanitarian, does great charity work for the poor, homeless and underprivileged children. No one is more deserving of this honor - and more than Steve Guttenberg.
