The Situation

In Rehab for Alcohol

Problem for 'Jersey Shore'

3/22/2012 12:01 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The Situation is in rehab not just for prescription drugs
The Situation
is in rehab not just for prescription drugs, but also for alcohol, TMZ has learned, and this turn of events could pose big problems for next season's "Jersey Shore."

Sources involved in the situation (sorry) tell us ... the Situation went through detox at a facility before he checked into Cirque Lodge in Utah, and the detox involved alcohol.

Our sources also say The Sitch is "very open" with other patients at Cirque about his drinking.  He discusses how his club appearances escalated his alcohol use.

Now here's the problem for "Jersey Shore."  The Situation and alcohol have been tied at the hip for 5 seasons.  If the show allows The Situation to fall off the wagon to make the show better in season 6, they will look like crass enablers.  If they don't let him drink, there's a good chance they will lose viewers.

Stay tuned.

Michael Jackson Estate

Back Up for Sale -- $23.9 Million

0321_michael_jackson_carolwood_house_launch_EXDThe house where Michael Jackson died is up for sale ... again ... for a whopping $23.9 million.

The estate went on the market Monday and we've learned a "major celebrity" will look at it tomorrow.

We're told the realtor -- Mauricio Umansky, the CEO and co-founder of The Agency in Beverly Hills -- will ONLY show the property to serious buyers who have pre-qualified ... which means they have the dough to buy the property.

The 17,000 square foot house -- which has been on and off the market since MJ died -- is completely empty. It has 13 bathrooms, a pool, guest house and an elevator.

How could rehab ruin "Jersey Shores"? Doesn't the subject matter ruin the show all on its own? These people are the most depraved, worthless examples of young people in America.

HEY-how's this for a solution? Let's have a final merciful season with a MATURED cast who now have to live with thier "problems" and SHOW WHAT THE JERSEY SHORE OFFERS BESIDES PLACES TO GET DRUNK? In a remote sense "Jersey Shore" did had some redemming value for guys such as myself who: 1) didn't have an older brothers to teach me; 2) wasn't in a frat and jumped on young ladies after getting them drunk-if only to show how Pr*cks and guidos hook up with stupid women. Another year of similar will only make the cast more a mockery of themselves and of course infuriate all those ethnic groups. With a preggers Snooki and alcoholic Situation (and I have had guidettes who worked out with him said he amazingly got ripped in health clubs by only running on a treadmill-right!!!) you either have to get a new cast or end the original What a better way to resolve all is to have a last seaosn where the crew spends the summmer on the shore with limited if any alcohol and takes in what Jersey has to offer. The beaches in Jersey are awesome, you have Atlantic City (the boardwalk, casinos, concerts at Boardwalk Hall and the Borgata), concerts at PNC Bank Art Center, Asbury Park (including a 3-dayer with Bon Jovi and the Food Fighters amongst many else), Metlife Stadium, The Prudential Center, Izod Arena (including Bruce Springsteen) yada yada yada. Philly is less than 90 minutes away as is New York City. Though my own grown up friends like to taigate and drink we've been having a ball without getting to sloshed for the most part of our years. This crew has been a parody of itself. By having one last sober season on the Jersey shore the crew can demonstrate that you don't have to hook up, or get drunk every night to have fun-and show off the great state of New Jersey and metropolitan area. Ratings of course (they will plummet anyway) won;'t be the same but unlike many a top show "Jersey Shore" can end with some class-and thank Jersey residents indirectly.

Hey situation......and Jersey Shore.....looks like they all may be outgrowing themselves. You have to do what you have to do in life and if alcohol is doing you in then it has to go......you can't drink just to be on TV. Let them put apple juice in your glass. Snooki having a lil pickle and situation in rehab.....Jennie movie forward.....Sammi outgrew her tantrums I think they are just growing up.

One can only hope the show gets canceled. What a waste of air space. Cannot believe there are people out there who are so wrapped up in these so called "reality" shows. Jersey Shore, The Kardashians, all the so-called Housewives shows. Are we as a society that desperate? Sad.

Jersey Shore appears to be a bunch of insignificant folks trying to act interesting in front of the camera - how pathetic that people waste their time watching such garbage. Try living your own life!

WHO CARES!!!

What's worst?
The stupidity of these reality shows or the people following them?
Who cares if this clown is in rehab?
There are many more people going through the same thing or worst and you never hear about it in the news.
Let him go to rehab and reflect on the negativity he's done to himself.
He was nothing before Jersey Shore. He'll be nothing just like the rest of the celebrity wannabe's once the hype passes.
Enjoy rehab you pathetic excuse for a human being.
YOU WON'T BE MISSED!!! You'll just be replaced by another idiot.

I watch Jersey Shore sporadically; I have teenagers. I have always questioned the mental health of these young people (and their parents), but there is something about "the Situation" (I mean, just look at his name), that has always made me take pause. It's no argument that the show will be forever changed if he leaves (it would be the same for the departure of any of them), but ratings and sponsor dollars do not pale in comparison to this guy's health and well being long after the show. He's a mixed-up guy that needs some guidance and a little drying out time. I wish him nothing but the best.

It better not get cancelled. And if he relapses, it's his choice. MTV shouldn't be held responsible for any of the acts the people on Jersey Shore do. Ya heard me?

This show is a total disgrace and should be cancelled. It has no redeeeming qualities and all of the participants are perfect examples of "NJ Lowlife".
