Big Bird
and the rest of the fine people at Sesame Street don't give two craps about Mitt Romney's politics -- but they're PUMPED he gave BB a shoutout during last night's Presidential debate ... despite the whole "Death to PBS" thing.

Sesame Street released a statement this morning following Romney's Big Bird reference, saying, "Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, educational organization. We do not comment on campaigns, but we're happy we can all agree that everyone likes Big Bird."

In case you missed the debate last night, Romney mentioned Big Bird in reference to cutting PBS funding in order to save government money.

Romney said, "I'm going to stop the subsidy to PBS ... I like PBS. I love Big Bird. But I'm not going to keep spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for it."

A rep for Sesame Street -- which has been a partner of PBS for 43 years -- says the show relies on PBS to distribute its commercial-free programming to children. In other words, no PBS ... no Sesame Street.

The CEO of PBS Paula Kerger told CNN this morning, "With the enormous problems facing the country, the fact that we are the focus is unbelievable to me. We are America’s biggest classroom, we touch children across the country in every home."

Long story short, Romney wants to kill Big Bird.

After that debate, anyone that still supports Obama is a moron. TMZ get out of the Democrats back pocket. The only reason you support him is because he said he supports gay marriage. What a bunch of losers.

What's wrong with PRIVATE donations and organizations funding PBS rather than the Fed Gov.

Romney is all talk he says what he has to. When he is around a rich crowd he trash talk the poor. When he is around the poor he sounds so concerned about the poor. I'm voting for OBAMA atleast he is for the people poor and middleclass and not cooperate friendly Romney is defending the oil companies tax breaks

Leave It Alone

Everyone is missing the main point. We don't need to keep borrowing money from China if we don't have to.

Haha this is all over the media on TV...the liberal democrats trying desperately to distract the public from seeing that Romney completely buried Obama in the debate :D
CNN, MSNBC and all the liberal biased networks are trying to use Big Bird as the distraction.

I'm an independent, not a republican, when I watch a debate, I want to see who presents the better arguments, I don't care if it's a republican or a democrat, I'll commend the one who won the debate, either way.
In this case?
Romney didn't just win, he blew Obama out of the water :D
He really did, Romney was a solid crock, entirely confident in every word he said.
Obama was a nervous wreck, totally flustered by Romney's facts, and fumbled the ball over and over.
Obama outright lied more than one, then tried to recover but failed.
Then he fell back on his false charm manipulations.....looking at the camera to "talk to the American people" to sucker in the pseudo-patriots....bringing up dear old grandma to pull in the feminist women.....trying but failing to maintain a soft caring face to appear father-like.
Problem is, the American people are already familiar with his immature false charm approach he fell flat.
Fell flat because a more intelligent, more secure, more honest and more factual man, Romney, was standing next to him schooling him on the facts ;)

Throwback kid

Obama looked like a scared little boy who was being chastised in school. He had negative body language and could not make eye contact with Romney. Obama had a defeated look because he knows he can't run on his record because it is horrible. He has never run anything before so he does not know anything about economics or how to create jobs for the American people. Obama would rather play basketball with Kobe, hang out with Jay Z and Beyonce and Clooney. If Obama doesn't sharpen his debating skills next time Romney will destroy him again. There is no hope and change with Obama, he was charming but was not qualified to be President and sold the American people a bill of goods. It will be nice to see Obama voted out of office. He is worse than Jimmy carter was

This is what you're highlighting from last night's debate??? Well, I guess it's really all you have. Paula Kerger needs to get a grip if she seriously thinks they were really the focus and not just simply an example of the outrageous spending that is occuring. I'd rather have food on my table than Big Bird on my TV.

Let PBS die. Sesame Street will probably get picked up by the Disney channel since Disney already owns the Muppets franchise. The other more successful shows will get picked up by other channels.
