This flag is in fact part of southern history plain and simple, how you react or take it is up to you but being that I live here I know the meaning behind it today. We are proud of our southern roots and the flag and slavery happen to be a part of it but without them we wouldn't be the people we are today. I have respect for EVERY aspect of our history both good and the bad. Period. So to say this flag should be tucked away and buried is just ignorant. BTW I don't own anything with the confederate flag on it but would be sad if was no longer flown at our courthouses and capitals.
