Sandy Hook Massacre

CT Attorney Blames State

Wants to Sue for $100 Mil

breaking news

A Connecticut attorney blames the state for the brutal massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary -- claiming it FAILED to protect the children from harm's way -- and now he wants to sue for $100 million on behalf of one on the survivors.

According to the Hartford Courant, Irving Pinsky filed legal docs Thursday with the Claims Commissioner, asking permission to sue the state on behalf of a 6-year-old Sandy Hook student who survived the shootings (she was in another classroom at the time).

Pinsky claims the girl, only ID'd as "Jill Doe," suffered emotional and psychological trauma ... this according to local reports.

Pinsky believes the shooting was foreseeable, claiming a "fellow like Adam Lanza would have been known as a potential problem to the police."

The state is immune from most lawsuits, which is why Pinsky must ask for permission to even file the suit. No decision has been made whether or not the suit will go through.

And this is why so many people think that all lawyers are bottom feeding s***bags. First, what does the State of Connecticut have to do with LOCAL schools? Second, how in the name of heavens could anyone consider what happened in Newton as a "foreseeable" harm? And now this jerk is saying "it's not about the money". If anyone buys that, I have some great mountain property in Kansas you might be interested in.

Another lawyer looking for a way to make money off of the pain of others.

A smart lawyer would sue the estate of Nancy Lanza on behalf of the deceased victims families. That's where the liability is.

They want 100 million for a survivor who was in another room in the building? How much will those who were wounded get? How much will the families of victims get? The entire thing is ludicrous.

& AGAIN you continue to show this person's picture. Please find another image.

I am incredibly disappointed that someone is trying to profit from this. It's pathetic, but unfortunately not surprising.

Best way to bankrupt the school, the community and the people (taxes) to pay for only one person. If they win, quite a few will come out of the wood work, who weren't even there, will want to sue.

Choady Bits

Proofreader... Editor... Something, TMZ. C'mon. Lazy sensationalist choads. It's the least you could do as a professional "news" (haha) outlet.

"on behalf of one on the survivors." (Typos. on = of)

"ID'd" ??? (LOL. Form. => IDed)

"...this according to local reports." (Punctuation. Comma Error. => "...this, according to local reports")

"...whether or not the suit will go through." (SMGDH. Whether-or-not faux pas. => " to whether the suit will go through.")

money-hungry lawyers and parents.

My child was a true survivor. One that ran from one of the rooms he went in and lost teachers and friends. Never in a million years do I support suing the state. It's disgusting. We are not all like this at all! Hope this doesn't give us all a bad name... I find it just horrible!

Elementary school safety planning was big in the 70's. It was? Yeah.

What else about it? Hold your children close, never let them go.

F ing lawyers and greedy people. Parents should thank god their kid is alive

The kid was in a different room and never saw the shooter. Irv the ambulance chasing POS would get at least $25 million and for what? Maybe next time some deranged idiot will shoot 20 ambulance chasers....

Be happy your daughters alive. Thats your payment. 100mill because your kid was safe in another room. These people are pathetic, they need to think about the people who really did lose someone. What a bunch of greedy ungrateful a$$holes. The fact you can still hug your child should be enough.

And it begins, anybody surprised?

The State better be immune from most lawsuits. Half of all the guns in the world are owned by Americans. One in every two Americans own one. If the State could be sued for knowing every potential "problem" then half of all Americans are suspect. But when the 1st Ammendment was made, there were no guns, only muskats. Guns were not invented until 50 years later. So stupid American gun laws are to blame, but so are stupid Americans for defending their gun laws.
