Michael is considered by some as the "King of Hollywood South." He has worked on over 35 film and tv projects, and many commercials in only 5 years. Michael is currently filming his third feature film with Denzel Washington and second with Mark Wahlberg, called "2 Guns." He just recently finished filming a remake of "Steel Magnolias" with an all-black, all-star cast. He is playing the role of "Spud" and is co-starring with Jill Scott, Phylicia Rashad, Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard, and Condola Rashad. Michael has a recurring role in Starz's new hit tv series called "Magic City" as "Grady James." He is one of the stars, along with Mark Wahlberg, in the former #1 movie in America called "Contraband." Michael is also starring in Lions Gate's sci-fi film called "The Bay" which was directed by Director Barry Levinson. Michael has supporting roles in several feature films premiering in 2012-2013. The films include "Journey 2 : The Mysterious Island", also starring Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Luiz Guzman and Vanessa Hudgens, "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" starring Jennifer Garner, "Flight" starring Denzel Washington, Don Cheadle, John Goodman and Bruce Greenwood, "Arthur Newman, Golf Pro" starring Colin Firth, and the feature films "Hero," "Unconditional," "American Reunion" and "Papa." He was also seen in a Season 5 episode of "Burn Notice" as "Detective Tau." Michael seen in a Season 2 episode of the USA Network's hit television show "Necessary Roughness" as "Slim."Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Michael caught the acting bug several years ago, when his father, John Beasley, came to Atlanta to perform in Kenny Leon's production of "Jitney," at The Alliance Theater. Michael played professional basketball, mainly overseas (Puerto Rico, Argentina, Dominic Republic, Chile, and Mexico). He knew he couldn't play basketball forever and decided to reinvent himself as an actor. He decided to pursue his acting career full time in 2005.With such a hectic schedule, he still finds time to run his companies.
