Robert Rodriguez

Powered by imdb

Robert Rodriguez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, USA, to Rebecca (Villegas), a nurse, and Cecilio Rodríguez, a salesman. His family is of Mexican descent. At a very young age, he showed an interest in cartooning and filmmaking and devoted all of his time towards developing this fascination. Finally, it paid off, resulting in him in making real movies; and just the first of them - El mariachi - made him the legend of independent, ultra-low budget filmmaking. His further career is a sign for young filmmakers that even the wildest dreams may come true if you are brave enough to follow your own path. Since then, Robert has written, directed, edited, and/or produced around 12 movies (as of 2007), including: Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, The Faculty and Spy Kids.  See full bio on IMDb »
