Stavros Niarchos III

Stavros Niarchos III (born April 17, 1985) is a professional kiteboarder and the first of four children of Philip and Victoria Niarchos. He was born in New York City and grew up in Paris, France. Born to a Greek Orthodox family, Niarchos father, Philip Niarchos, is the son of Greek shipping tycoon Stavros Niarchos. His mother is Victoria Niarchos, a member of the non-aristocratic branch of the Guinness beer clan. She is of Irish and Mexican ancestry. He is also a great-grandson of the socialite Gloria Guinness. Niarchos is a third cousin of Athina Onassis de Miranda, whose maternal grandmother, Tina Onassis, was Niarchos's great-aunt as well as the fifth wife of his paternal grandfather.
