The 68-year-old resurfaced at a Hollywood event with his wife on Tuesday, looking dandy.
In his early career, Howard used the alias Don Sturdy.
Hesseman recently appeared in another Cincinnati titled series -- the canceled HBO show, "John from Cincinnati."
