Silverstone received plenty of attention for her work in "Clueless," and she told The Hollywood Reporter that her sudden rise to stardom following the movie's release was "very complicated" and that she "really had no idea what was happening."

Paul Rudd Starred As The Love Interest Of Silverstone's Character

Paul Rudd filled the role of Josh Lucas, Horowitz's environmentalist former stepbrother and eventual love interest, in the flick. Rudd's since revealed that he almost lost his part in "Clueless" after he impulsively shaved his head following his audition for the film, and called the decision "stupidly cavalier" in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, although his hair ultimately grew back before filming started.

Stacey Dash Reprised Her Role As Dionne Davenport In The 'Clueless' Series

Stacey Dash starred alongside Silverstone as Dionne Davenport, Cher's slightly more composed and equally fashionable best friend. Dash went on to reprise her role as Davenport in the "Clueless" television series, and she remained with the program for its entire three-season run, which lasted from 1996 until 1999.

Brittany Murphy Played A Fish-Out-Of-Water Transfer Student

Brittany Murphy portrayed Tai Frasier, a transfer student who becomes the subject of an attempted makeover by Horowitz. Murphy passed away at the age of 32 in December 2009 after suffering from pneumonia. Silverstone spoke about her costar's acting talent during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, and claimed Murphy was "just so good" during her audition for the role of Frasier.

Donald Faison Portrayed Dionne Davenport's Boyfriend

Donald Faison portrayed Murray Duvall, Dionne Davenport's longtime boyfriend, both in the film and its subsequent television series. Faison revealed he didn't expect "Clueless" to be such a hit in an interview with Us Weekly, where he claimed he had "no clue" audiences would flock to theaters to see the flick, and that he was "just happy to be in a studio film."

Breckin Meyer Rode His Skateboard All The Way To His Audition

Breckin Meyer filled the role of Travis Birkenstock, a perennially chilled-out skateboarder who takes an interest in Frasier after she transfers to Bronson Alcott High School. Meyer revealed that he rode his skateboard for miles just to make it to his audition in an episode of the "Still Here Hollywood" podcast, and claimed his messy look may have helped him land his role.

Elisa Donovan Portrayed Horowitz's Rival In 'Clueless'

Elisa Donovan filled the role of Amber Mariens, a fashion-obsessed teenager who served as Cher's rival throughout much of the movie. Donovan went on to reprise her role as Mariens in a Super Bowl ad for shopping service Rakuten -- which also starred Silverstone -- which aired in 2023, and she's since told Yahoo! Entertainment that portraying the character again after so many years was a "surreal" experience.

Jeremy Sisto Wanted To 'Make Fun' Of Rich Kids In The Film

Jeremy Sisto portrayed Elton, a rich student at Bronson Alcott High School who was Frasier's intended love interest -- although he didn't have any interest in the transfer student. Sisto has since claimed he read for the role of Josh during the movie's casting process, and told TV Insider he wanted to "make fun of these rich kids" that he'd grown up around through his work in the film.
