I cannot believe they still have Hasselback on the view..She comes off as a holy-than-thou consevative and she doesn't validate anybody elses opinion..She is only 29 yrs old,but she is an expert in everything..What in theheck did she do that was so special, to even have anyone consider her for a position on the show? I know it probably helps that her husband is a pro football player, but pleasssee, get her to SHUT-UP!! Most of the women that watch the view are older and have lived life a little and can't relate to a "child" like her that has had everything handed to her..You can tell by the tantrums she throws..Wait till her "bubble" starts to burst and than let's see how she holds up..Barbara do yourself a favor and get rid of her before she ruins the ratings like Star did.
I was sad to learn that Star Jones was leaving The View. I always enjoyed listening to her opinions. Rosie O is not a good choice for this show. She criticized Star for not being honest with her audience and admitting to gastric bypass. Well.....how honest was Rosie when she had her own show and went on and on about her love for Tom Cruise? Where was her honesty about being a lesbian? Joy is the comedian in the group and the show doesn't need Rosie's loud mouth. I'd hate to see everyone else overshadowed by this attention hog. I won't be watching The View any longer when Rosie joins the cast.
"The View" implies that hosts, co-hosts, and guests will discuss their perspectives on various topics. If one cannot handle that in a respectful manner, one need not participate nor watch. We have enjoyed lively debates on this show over the years but have recently seen the show deteriorate into a bully-clique which cat-fights eachother at Barbara's indication, seemingly to curry favor with Barbara who holds herself in the position of alpha chick.
Barbara, we'd like to see you stick to sharing your View on whatever topic at hand, and less (much less) critique of others, their opinions, and their means of expressing themselves.
Joy, we feel you are interesting, funny, and usually dignified in your approach.
Elisabeth, three cheers for your respectful demeanor in sharing your View, time and again, when others forsake their self control, lose their focus, and attack you rather than follow your lead in sharing their personal View and the factors which have led them to their perspective. We have seen them call you "extreme" and screech that you should "calm down" when you in fact are expressing yourself calmly and their voice volume and pitch indicate that they are out of control.
Meredith, we loved you. You kept the show in balance. If Elisabeth ever leaves, we'd like to see her mentored by you as we think she has great potential.
Star, you were the prima donna girlie-girl, bringing a spark and sizzle that perhaps helped deflect some of Barbara's energy away from attacking Elisabeth.
Barbara, do you fear being all washed up? Losing your appeal? Threatened by the younger co-hosts? You seem to be projecting a lot of fear and intolerance onto others... most recently Elisabeth. Live and Let Live. Respect others' Views!
I think Elizabeth is great. She is very compassionate about issues and she stands up for what she believes. She has the most guts out of all of the wack jobs. She is the most level headed host around the left wing table. What would the show be like if everyone had the same feelings on issues? I think she's great! You rock!!
I agree that Elisabeth adds a different flavor to the show and varitey is the spice of life. I don't agree with many of her views but so what? As adults we all know that there are many different opinions out there on virtually every subject. It's interesting to hear what others have to say and to know that they represent a percentage of society. Hang in there Elisabeth and keep on letting us know what's on your mind (I doubt anyone will get the opportunity to speak once Rosie O gets there).
