James Blunt Gets to the Point

6/16/2006 4:18 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

James BluntMany times over the years we've heard male rock and pop stars, say they love playing music for the female attention their chosen profession attracts. James Blunt is no exception.

At the Novella Awards last month, James addressed critics who have been saying his song "You're Beautiful" is overplayed. When asked if he himself ever tired of the tune, James retorted:

'I don't have to listen to it, I'm the one who sings it. And it's continued to get me laid."

James continued this week to talk about the benefits of stardom:

"Sometimes we have people flashing us, and that's great fun. The other trick I've learned is that if you tell an audience, 'Sorry, I was distracted by a girl flashing me,' loads of other people start flashing you too."

Nice work if you can get it. Oh, and besides the random flashers, James has been spending time with the gorgeous Petra Nemcova.

Jeez, can we say FULL OF HIMSELF? Honestly, no one needs another stuck-on-de-shirted-girls popstar who can only remind us of his overbloated head from his overplayed song!

James Blunt sucks ass. Its a joke that anyone could consider him a good songwriter. I would rather hear pretty much anything else on earth than his steaming pile of shit song "beautiful".

I had never heard of James Blunt until I saw the video for You're Beautiful. I liked it so much I bought his cd, Back to Bedlam. I immediately fell in love with his voice and was impressed that he wrote his own songs. I would bet his critics have never listened to the lyrics of Goodbye My Lover or No Bravery. If they don't touch your heart, you have no heart.
