It didn't take long for Barbara Walters to find Star 2.0.
On this morning's "The View", Barbara, Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck strode out onto the stage with an attractive, slender African American woman who took a seat that wasn't even cold yet.
The Star-alike is Renee Elise Goldsberry, who, ironically enough, isn't a lawyer, but plays one on TV. Goldsberry's an actress on the soap "One Life to Live," whose character, according to her online bio, is "a tough-as-nails defense attorney with a compassionate heart" (The compassionate heart thing is kind of a left turn for attorneys on "The View."). Goldsberry begins her bio by saying she "gives all glory to God for being the author of her biography," not un-reminiscent of the kind of pronouncement Star was wont to make.
The show went on as usual with no reference to Barbara vs. the fired Star, except when Goldsberry said she "wasn't a lawyer," and wasn't going to get "in the middle of things." Goldsberry added that she just happened to "have nothing else to do" when she was asked to guest host (She has hosted twice before earlier this year).
But there were signs that the ghost of Star was haunting the halls, when the audio went completely out. Barbara blamed it on "global warming." Riiiiight.
It was sad to see the fireworks from Star, Barbara Walters and ABC all over the news, and on Larry King. Employees not being rehired, or fired happens everyday, and this is just a fact of life. I don't know what good it did Star to handle this situation pubicly the way she did. She should have just walked away with her dignity. To be honest, I had said that I wasn't going to watch the show anymore, because of how quickly Star's picture, and Barbara's intro the next day appeared. I'm sure it had to be done, but it just didn't seem right. Example: The comment, and "then there were three" and others" just seemed wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right.
I'm so happy to see Renee Goldsberry represent on "The View." Her character on ABC's One Life to Live is absolutely awesome! Great choice! I plan to watch every day that she appears. Please treat her right - As African American, or any other race represented on the show, keep in mind that the cultures may be different from yours - so Ladies, please be accepting. Renee should not be compared to Star Jones Reynolds, they are different - but there will be some similiaries, and that is that they African American, and has a husband. There are some things that you will see in that culture that may remind you of the ousted Star, but please accept that as that culture.

I think it's great that Rosie is joining the View. Having a lesbian's point of view will contribute to the forum of diversity of opinions that the View represents.
I can't wait for Rosie to start her new job and destroy the View like she destroys everything else she touches! WOW! And replacing Star - who IS THE VIEW - with some generic black chick... typical RACIST MOVE.
BARBARA WALTERS IS A RACIST PIG!
Renee Goldsberry is the perfect choice, she is beautiful and talented and a very down to earth classy lady! I love Renee!
I think that Barbara, Rosie and ABC orchestrated this whole ousting of Star Jones. I think that Rosie has become a mean spirited witch and this comes from someone who enjoyed her and her old show. My dislike of Rosie doesn't come from her being Gay I think everyone pretty much did a wink wink on that one. I mean Gay women can adore Tom Cruise so what, as long as she isn't doing anything to harm children and she is with a consenting adult, so what. My dislike for Rosie is that she went on a deliberate personal attack of Star and Abc and Barbara by her hiring or saying that is perfectly ok. Geez. this whole thing sucks.
" who the hell cares about Star F@#%^In Jones; she's a nobody and she should have known that she was not gonna win when it comes to going up against Barbara Walters so...... ( Good Riddence) to Miss Jones.
The bottom line is this . . . Barbara Walter's is a white woman looking for a reason to let the sista go. Barbara is a backstabber. Although I am not a big Star fan, I don't think she was done justly. Why is it whenever a person of color enjoys her earnings (big wedding, big car) white people find a way to get rid of them because they are getting "too big?" Yet, they can flaunt and nothing happens to them. If anyone should be removed, it should be the annoying little girl, Elisabeth. And Rosie, that loud mouth was just hatin' on Star. It should be interesting to see how long Rosie's big mouth and Barbara's two-facedness last. . . Only in America or should I say, Only in White America.
Renee is the most amazing, beautiful, witty and fun person that I have ever had the chance to meet and be friends with. The view would be so lucky to have her on a permanent basis!
