"EXTRA" correspondent Tanika Ray took her turn this morning in Star Jones' old seat on "The View" as a guest co-host, and brought a serious jolt of energy to the table, provoking crackling wit and wackiness from Barbara, Joy, and Elisabeth--and even inspired Barbara to pull her hair before the end of the show.
As the foursome cruised their way through the day's "Hot Topics," Ray pulled no punches providing her view on Oprah and Gayle King, Christie Brinkley, Brad Pitt, and, well, breasts. She also helped welcome guests Randy Jackson and Cheyenne Kimball to the show.
And just before signing off, Walters asked Ray about her billowing mane of hair, and verified its integrity by pulling at it. Tanika assured the audience that it was all real -- and that it's a lot easier to deal with than it looks.
Tanika returns to "The View" for another go-round on the hot seat on Friday's show.

I like Tanika Ray and I really like her hair. As a matter of fact I would like to know what products she uses, as I would like to wear my hair in the same style. As for the View, I could take or leave the show. Some topics are good but then there are times you can't hear one view due to another (ladies talking at the same time). How about some courtesy, allowing one speaker at a time.

I'm with #1 on this, what a lame story. The View women are scary.
I think it is all crazy and why are they stressing so hard to fill the position with a black female. Star Jones was black is there a stipulation that her replacement must be black also. No disrespect to any of the ladies that are coming on the show, they all lack something. I wasnât a Star Jones person but I did like her education and intelligence and yes even the arrogance that she possessed. I am not discriminating because I myself am a proud black female. But it is becoming a joke it is like you are searching for the next black person to sit in that spot- how about the next person with talent. Rather that person is black, white, green or purple. Look at the person not the color of the skin or is it the ratings. You are losing more of your viewers searching for the next token. That is one of the reasons I no longer watch the show and the fact that you donât talk about anything of importance is the other reason.
Tanika did a good job cohosting The View today. The ladies all seemed to get along well with her. Kathy Hilton was never a stewardess! She was a teenaged actress...played Sissy on Family Affair as one of her first jobs. She waould add nothing to the show........she's as boring as her daughters.
it was a great show today! as was yesterdays show with Kelly. But i could see this woman as a permenant replacement! She really fit in well and added a great energy and fun. It was good to watch.
I have really enjoyed watching the view lately. Its good to see the show being fun again. I cant wait for Rosie to be part of the mix!
to the person commenting about star jones replacement - i am a 56 yr old white woman and i do hope that they fill the slot with a black woman. i really hope that you dont think that is a token. i think it adds a good dimension to the show to not just have white women on the panel. just like i wouldnt want to watch a show of all penacostal white women. i want to listen to women who have different views and are from different back grounds. I like that Joy doesnt believe in marriage. Not everyone in this world agrees with Elizabeth and her little set republican views. In my real life my friends are diffent colours and backgrounds and i want that in the shows that i watch! Personally i think a black woman on the show would be a necessary dimension. My life and my cooking would be much more boring without my friends of colour. I love them and i hope and pray that i add something to their lives too!
