McConaughey's Car on eBay

Matthew McConaughey / CorvetteIf you're in the market for a 1971 Corvette convertible you might want to check out Matthew McConaughey's eBay listing.

Matthew McConaughey has put his '71 Vette on the auction block for a good cause. Matthew found the car at a car show back in 1998. At the show's end he was the proud owner of the mediterranean blue muscle car that Matthew says is " ... for me it's the quintessential, bare bones, badass American sports car."

Matthew will donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the vehicle to Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network's Hurricane Katrina and Rita recovery efforts. "I am fortunate enough to have everything I need, and the sale of it will help so many" McConaughey writes on the auction site.

4. It will raise a lot of money for charity, what is the problem with that. You people are so negative. He isn't FORCING anyone to buy the car. That is an ignorant comment. He is a nice guy, doing something that a lot of celebs do, so why are you all hating on him. Give the guy a break!

5. I agree with Jennifer...sometimes folks on here sound like dead beat loosers.get out from behind your pc, put the donughts down..lets talk about you and see how you feel..it wouldn't be a pretty site.so shut up and learn.. Im not sure that if you know anything about auctions and donations... go to irs.com and learn alittle about tax write off..then come back with some sense. The proceeds from the money are going to a worthy cause.....I can tell that some folks on here could never think outside the box...Way to Go Matt...

6. DAMN! Can't someone do anything nice. If celb.'s dont give people complain, if the do give people complain. What have you all done for the katrina/rita efforts?

7. I THINK THAT WHAT HE IS DOING IS A NICE GESTURE. HE EVEN SAID THAT HE IS FORTUNATE TO HAVE WHAT HE WANTS AND BY GETTING RID OF THIS CAR AND DONATING 100% TO CHARITY IS VERY THOUGHTFUL. THERE ARE SO MANY VETTE COLLETORS AROUND WHY WOULDN'T THEY WANT ONE THAT WAS OWNED BY A CELEB!? NOT TO MENTION THAT HE IS VERY ATTRACTIVE SO ANYTHING HE DOES IS OKAY WITH ME!

8. With all the wrong going on in this world why are you guys raggin' on this guy? As far as I can see, as celebs go, he's one of the more benign. Focus on something important will you.

9. wo wo, tiger watch out and correct your spelling, punctuation and grammar before you get on your soap box and talk about ideas beyond your comprehention. There is a book that will guide you through all those obstacles you have confronted like comas and periods called Strunk and White's Elements of Style. Secondly you are wrong. If old Matt hasn't already donated 50% of his income for the year then his car will be a full tax deduction for the amount the car is purchased for.

10. I find it extremely amusing that this "scarlet" person chastises someone for spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes, yet makes several of her own. To wit: It's COMPREHENSION; COMMA. And lastly, you don't end a sentence with "for".

What an idiot.

13. Okay, a friend of mine worked with Matthew McConaughey for the entire duration of one of his recent films. She only had the most glowing things to say about him. From her account, McConaughey was the voice of calm and reason when others were freaking out and that he actively involved himself in disputes to help reach a compromise and keep things moving. He is a genuinely good guy. So f***ing what if the donation gives him a tax break? Do you b****es complain when Bush and all get tax breaks for every damn thing they do? Jesus Christ, get off your moronic high horse and applaud McConaughey for doing something. Tax break aside, he will be helping to raise money for Katrina victims that the Bush administration does not unless it somehow benefits one of Bush's corporate partners. Finding fault in this generous act by Matthew McConaughey is nothing less than hateful spite tinged with envy for what a down-to-earth guy from Texas has been able to achieve.
