Despite reports swirling around the Internet, legendary actress Candice Bergen has not had a stroke.
Her publicist Heidi Schaeffer tells TMZ that Candice suffered a bout with high blood pressure and was hospitalized "for a few days" for observation as a precaution. She is now on medication, is back at work and is just fine.
The award-winning actress can be seen on ABC's popular Emmy winning show "Boston Legal."

(Page 1 of 1)Her publicist says she didn't have a stroke--and you buy that as truth? Get real. She may or may not have had one, but a publicist's job has nothing to do with truth and her statement means nothing. What does mean something is fact she was admitted to hospital "for a few days" for observation over high blood pressure--what! you don't get admitted to a hospital for "days" for high blood pressure in this day and age unless you've had an incident of some kind--dizziness, pains, etc. or a pressure reading that has skyrocketed to off-the-chart heights. A stroke, which isn't always easy to detect, is an obvious possibility and clearly something quite troubling happened to Candice. Change your headline.
Come on TMZ you can't put a classy actress like Candice Bergen on this site. Most of the posters here are morons that can't relate to a real actress with chops. Give them Paris or Lindsay, that's about their speed. You do Ms. Bergen a disfavor. But from the hand full of us with taste thank you.
Strokes come in all sizes. FromTIA's to massive and death. Perhaps she has suffered a medium TIA. I hope not; I wish her well, and years and years of good health.
I just saw her at a movie screening last night and she was walking around just fine
I notice some very negative comments concerning whether or not she had a stroke. Keep in mind that high blood pressure is considerd the "silent killer". Any of you could be waliking around with high blood pressure. Just pray that someone cares a little more about you if you or one of your family members becomes the victim of a stroke.
It looks like Candice Bergen and Renee Zellweger both had Bells Palsy, which can be a temporary or permanent facial nerve paralysis as a result of a facial nerve virus. In s stroke, there is one side drooping. In Bells Palsy the eye tends to stay open and twitch. Some people say that it is extremely painful. Some get better with steroids. some have permanent paralysis of one side of the face.
