Danny DeVito -- Hammered on "The View"?

Danny DeVito says he and George Clooney had a long night out last night -- and by the look of things on "The View" this morning, it caught up with him.

DeVito, appearing as a guest on the show to plug his latest comedy, "Deck the Halls," told the View gals that he might not have gotten to sleep just yet ... before the 10 AM taping.

Then, cursing his seventh limoncello (a lemon liqueur) from the night before, DeVito went on an extended, Three Stooges-esque rant against President Bush, much of which was bleeped out by network censors. He also talked about making full use of the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House when he and wife Rhea Perlman stayed there.

Joy and Rosie laughed at DeVito's antics. Elisabeth seemed tolerably amused, despite the political slant. Barbara, however, was very much not so, glaring icily at the "limonized" DeVito.

DeVito's rep Stan Rosenfield tells TMZ that his client had asked for Barbara Walters' phone number today, and that he would say "what needed to be said privately" to her. Rosenfield also confirmed that DeVito and Clooney were out last night together, and that "they had a good time."

34. Oh come on, it wasn't so bad. he said right off the top that he was out all night with George. It was all in god fun, Danny is funny, especially drunk. I don't think Babs was angry, any press is good press as long as it wasn't hurtful. So People are talking about The View today with a smile on their face. Danny gets some free pub for his movie.

35. Supposedly, he apologized to Babs Walters for "anything construed as unfortunate". He must be getting apology lessons from Kerry.

39. Give me a break, he is a grown man and if he wants to stay up and party with George Clooney, go for it! He knew he had to get up and do the show, so what? Maybe it helped him get through having to be with all those women firing stupid questions at him
Everyone makes their own choices and obviously he is not the one with the problem.

40. People should bash dumbass Bush! Look at the mess in Iraq. It was created because of his incompetence . People are no longer buying the bull$hit that the Repub"lie" cans are selling. If you guys want to be outraged about something, be outraged that dumbass Bush got us in to this ill-fated war!

41. Another Actor/Comedian who doesnt know who he really is...maybe in this case per some of the other comments in fact a "drunken little man" "draft dodger" "post taxi has been".....whatever he really is when sober he must not be happy with that state.....needs to be another member of the "shut up and sing" gang which Mr Clooney, Babs, Dixie Chicks, are all proud card carrying members.....their shtick is getting old and unfunny---bash the president and get a laugh, in this case a drunken laugh out of it......the guy's going on the Kramer shelf for me along with any of his current or future "artistic" work.

Let me guess Danny, you're going into Rehab, saying your sorry and than in a few months you grace us with another unfunny film..you havent made a good one since Home Alone, and that kid is now a grown man...

Sorry ass drunken little man draft dodger but tough guy when he's drunk going after the president....next time stay on Rosie's lap---you always have needed a big mommy style woman in your life...

hey Bernard Goldberg, add another one to the 110 people screwing up America book list...just another Hollywood drunken loudmouth bad mouthing his Country.

43. Okay so I watched it and thought ( for once) that The view was entertaining. GO Danny! People need to loosen up a bit here. As for his political beliefs he is entitled to his opinion. You don't have to agree. IMO he was funny!! And Bush is easy to make fun of as he keeps doing things that are hilarious! Just because you don't like Bush doesn't mean you are bad mouthing the country. Sheesh Anyway this show sure beat the view where Ripa called in to air her complaints about Clay Aiken ( how classy was that!)

44. I think Rosie showed "height discrimination" today!!!! I think all short people should be up-in-arms! She NEVER would have asked Brad Pitt or George Clooney to sit on her lap! That was jusy because he is short! Shame on Rosie!! (sounds as ridiculous as the Clay thing eh?)

45. DeVito certainly knows how to make an ass out of himself. The whole show is a disgrace.
