Richard Simmons adjusted his junk ... on live TV!

Simmons was seen on "Today" this morning, sticking his hand into his terrifying short shorts and adjusting his package, unaware that cameras were on him!

Cutting back to the hosts just seconds too late, Matt Lauer asked, "What is he doing there?" as the group broke into laughter. Before jumping to the weather, Al Roker said, "That was scary, something for YouTube" -- and perfect for TMZ!

16. get over it! i see guys adjusting themselves all the time. its not like he knew the cameras were on. better question is why didnt the cameras go to something else?

18. Guys do this sort of thing all the time. It's just unfortunate he was caught in the act on live TV. Should have been more careful; unless he's wanting to attract attention. Can't let Paris and Britney take the front page everyday!
