Mash-up artists everywhere, rejoice. Congressman Mike Doyle from Pennsylvania is your new BFF, and he's got your back. During a recent "Future of Radio" sub-committee hearing, he explained his deep affinity for a male Pittsburgh DJ who performs under the name Girl Talk.
"Mr. Chairman, he blended Elton John, Notorious B.I.G. and Destiny's Child all in the span of 30 seconds," Doyle gushed. "And, while the legal indie-music download site eMusic.com took his stuff down due to possible copyright violation, he's now flying all over the world to open concerts and remix for artists like Beck."
Music/tech geeks say this is one small step for man, one giant leap for Girl Talk.

(Page 1 of 1)As a former Pittsburgher, I just want to say that Mike Doyle is one of the FEW politicians in that city that I can honestly say takes some action for his constituents. Doyle rocks!
We put the video of Doyle's testimony up at http://splashcastmedia.com/us-rep-defends-mixtapes-and-mashups-on-floor-of-congress
Girl Talk was one of the first people to have the Air Jordan symbol shaved into the back of his head, 4th-5th grade. He would make the stencils at home and have his dad do it for him. He was a trend-setter then, he's a trend-setter now. Keep rockin Girl Talk.
