Larry Birkhead breaking newsLarry Birkhead's attorney Debra Opri issued a statement this morning, saying "Larry Birkhead and I have terminated our attorney-client relationship effective immediately."

TMZ has learned that there has been trouble brewing for some time, and that this split was not a surprise to either party. We know they have butted heads over various issues in the past three weeks. Larry will participate in today's hearing in the Bahamas, but will only be represented by a Bahamian attorney. We know that he has not yet retained new counsel in the United States.


Opri, for her part, says "My prayers will be with Larry and Dannielynn always."

4. Clearly, what can be inferred from this is that LB is going to strike a deal with the devil (HKS). And like all deals with the devil, LB will regret it for the rest of his life.

5. It's about time. Larry wants the baby, not all the hoopla.

Hopefully, they will work this out in court the right way and if Stern doesn't allow the test, I will be changing my opinion of him.

10. Larry will be much better off without her...she was annoying, antagonising, and certainly didn't get him anywhere but lots of press.

12. I think this is the best thing that could have happened to LB! Debra is so over bearing and I think the judges in LA are sick of her antics.I think he will have a better chance with any other attorney.

15. Sounds like Stern has gotten to Larry either that or he isn't the baby's father..Talk about timing...If he continue his fight he's the father if not i gues that poor baby will never know the truth
