What's Jewel doing out with Perez Hilton?

The blue-haired Gossip Gangstar and the fantastically curved snaggle-toothed singer were spotted heading into Mr. Chow together last night -- in a spectacularly curious collision of worlds.

Surely he's not singing on her next album, and she's hardly scandalous enough to be gossip worthy, so what's the connection?

TMZ checked with the blueberry blogger, and Perez tells TMZ the two are friends, and met up for last night's Young Hollywood Awards. Another mystery solved by TMZ.com!

4. Jewel is hanging with Perez because she knows that by pretending to be his friend or a fan of his "work", he'll plaster her face all over his site. That is, however, until she does something to piss him off. Then he'll spend the next few months trashing her. Petunia doesn't have friends; just a bunch of opportunists that use him for free publicity then turn around and hurl homophobic slurs at him behind his back. He's a tool and an very USED tool at that!!!

5. to JaneSays - Perez pokes fun at celebrity worship culture. I'm sure he has plenty of friends.
They just might not be in the industry. Celebrities take themselves far too seriously.
