Alcohol Agency Probes Lohan Caper

The agency that regulates alcoholic beverages in California has contacted the Beverly Hills Police Department to determine if there's evidence that Lindsay Lohan or other minors were illegally served alcohol the night of the crash.

As TMZ reported, in the hours before Lohan crashed her car, she was partying at a West Hollywood nightspot -- Les Deux. TMZ has video of Lohan leaving the club around 3:30 AM, an hour-and-a-half after closing time.

John Carr, spokesperson for California's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, tells TMZ that his agency wants to review witness reports and other evidence to determine if a formal investigation is warranted.

Last year, TMZ broke several stories of underage stars drinking at Hollywood clubs. Carr says that since our report, his agency has conducted 10 undercover operations at various clubs, though he wouldn't say if they got the goods.

TMZ contacted the rep for Les Deux. Our calls were not immediately returned.

11. Finally!!! If Lindsay Lohan is leaving nightclubs, bars, and other business establishments where she is either drunk and/or being served liquor, then why is not the law going after the owners? They are serving alcohol to minors and also allowing drugs to be used. That makes me very, very mad. Do something California!

Also, Lindsay entering rehab after getting arrested for an alleged DUI and drugs reeks of covering one's butt. This appears to be only a ploy to avoid prosecution, IMHO. Her people's call to give her privacy is a joke. Lindsay never safeguarded her own privacy, so why should we?

14. What a joke that now they want to investigate underage drinking because of all the publicity surrounding Lindsay's accident. These clubs will receive at worst a slap on the wrists because they and the alcohol control people are all in bed together. I'll bet payoffs are involved.
