I do not believe those are flip flops as cited in the article. A close inspection will show that as the left foot is raised there is no hanging of the back of the flip flop as physics dictates - meaning no flip flop sound either. Also supporting this is the fact that she is not clutching with her toes - as is needed to keep the back forced up. Also note on the right foot that before the rest of the foot past the toes (most of which is hidden) there is a sudden rise in the foot angle, this indicates at least a modest arch or heel is invloved. So I would venture that another type of strap/sandal shoe is involved and not a flip flop.
