Madonna: Desperately Seeking Sunglasses

You know what criticisms about Madonna irritate me the most? The ones about her age and 'desperately seeking youth', 'she's so damn old'....that is not only stupid, but ridiculous. It almost implies that the person making those statements thinks that somehow we don't get older and age...or that Madonna is supposed to stay 26 forever. She looks amazing, and I bet that if she were fat or haggard there would be horrible insults hurled at her as well...why can't people just look at aging stars (49 really is not that old) and appreciate that they have taken such good care of themselves. She is in better shape than MOST women that are 29....she should be applauded for her fitness. And another reason why her skin is still looking good is because she does NOT go in the sun....she has never gone in the sun because she knows how damaging it is to skin.

I really wish those who make comments about her age would remember that each day we are getting older and older....and for a woman to still be at the top of her game, 25 years into her career, and look as good and healthy as she does is to be commended. But wait, this is America, where we have to crucify someone who looks better or might have more than us...I forgot, sorry.....how dare you be in shape and take such IMMACULATE care of yourself, Madonna, how dare you not be a fat cow and out of shape like most women at 49....how dare you value your health and image enough to look so incredible....shame on you for having a successful career at your age, shame on you for continuing to be an individual, and a strong, intelligent, creative woman. Shame on anyone who faults her for being HER.

I like the glasses, and for the hands you all are so mean. I have issues with my hands too. It is part of aging.
