11. I don't know if her name is Kirsten or Kristin, but the actress who is now on Heroes who was the title character on Veronica Mars - her last name is Bell. I think I read that she is an animal lover and she is youthful, pretty and not some doped up, drunk celebrity. She seems a good choice.

14. Spay and neuter your pets everyone, that would at least reduce the need for shelters. I say reduce because of course overpopulation is not always the problem. I f you have friends/relatives with pets, nag them to spay/neuter. If you must buy from a pet store, be sure it is one that has the animals "fixed" before selling them, some do, they don't all deal with puppy mills. Ask questions, if in doubt don't buy the puppy, never support a puppy mill but always report them and then follow up. Please don't let your dog ride in the back of trucks I know he loves it but they love the taste of antifreeze too, would you let them drink it? Never leave your pet in the car in the summer even with the windows open and if you catch someone else doing it, speak up or report it. That's my public service announcement for the day.
