Orlando's Fate in D.A.'s Hands

Orlando BloomPolice sources tell TMZ the Orlando Bloom car crash investigation will be sent to the L.A. County District Attorney's office today for felony review. The investigation focuses on Bloom and a paparazzo who allegedly cut Bloom off before Orlando crashed into a parked car.

The lead officer tells TMZ that the LAPD will not make a recommendation on whether to prosecute either Bloom or the pap.

The LAPD's investigation centers on whether Bloom and/or the pap committed felony hit and run. The X17 photo agency has video of Bloom walking away from the crash, as one of the passengers lay in the back seat with a fractured neck. He was urged by paparazzi to return to the scene -- and he finally did.

The officer would not say if he had identified the driver of the SUV.

No word on how long the D.A. will take to review the case.

4. I do not think that it is fair to even consider this for a felony hit and run. How many people, when they are in a car accident get out of the car and walk around after injury, or try to leave the site? When humans are faced with trauma, many times they try to walk away from it. He did not leave. He turned around when he was strongly advised to do so. Would he have turned around if he had not been urged to - I DON'T KNOW! But, I do not find it a bit strange that he tried to walk away.

You know, with the paps bouncing all over the place, catching people doing things they've ALWAYS done, just never before seen - I do not think it is fair to punish someone who did the right thing in the end. He did the right thing! He went back, and realized his friend's injury and helped her, lovingly and considerately! It was a freaking ACCIDENT, not an ON PURPOSE. LADA is wasting precious tax-payer-payin' time reviewing this thing for a felony! RIDICULOUS!

5. Awful Actor and Awful Person to leave his friends in the car after an accident and leave when they're hurt BUT this is L.A. and he's a Star and he wont get in trouble for this as we already know and isn't Britney going to sue your ass for not being first today on TMZ?

7. I think this is ridiculous. Doesn't the DA in Los Angeles have bigger fish to fry? It's an absolute waste of taxpayer's money to prosecute Orlando.

8. What is with you TMZ? You've reported this exact same news about 5 times now. Is someone paying you to report on boring as hell Orlando Bloom? Are you getting more site hits from his fangirlies or something? You know nothing will come of this investigation.

12. if the paps would leave them alone maybe they could concentrate on driving instaed worrying about paps cutting them off to take pics.
if anything both should be at fault, but if the paps weren't all up in their faces with cameras the accident most likely would never have happened!

13. Maybe if we all stopped reading about celebs, the paps wouldn't be chasing them all over the place for a story. Something to think about!!

14. Regardless of whether they prosecute Orlando, they should go after the driver. Sorry TMZ, but you the paps shouldn't run people out of road to do their job. The poor fractured neck make-up lady doesn't deserve to go through that pain just so you can get a photo and make money. I don't hurt people to make money and the paps are out of control at times!! Besides, a woman's neck WAS FRACTURED! The one who actually caused the accident should be held accountable.
