Ballet Class Cranks That Soulja Boy!

The hip-hop dance Soulja Boy, which was created by the artist of the same name, has taken over the charts and every dance floor in America -- and has now trickled into ballet. Crank that pirouette!

The playful but complex dance has more steps than AA -- and is also hard for some folks to do. But it's not a challenge to these pint-sized professionals. Watch lil' man in the front work it for the camera. Superman that!

16.

Well, dang. I'll have to admit to my ignorance about the Superman thing. Ick.

I seriously doubt that the dance instructor or the parents, and certainly not the kids, know that particular connotation. They're just cute kids bouncing to the beat.

I'll drop Al Sharpton a line and tell him about that "'ho'" business, though.

19. @OCD ...I didn't know the meaning either and admit its even more funny now that i know what it means. Now I laugh at all the parents jumping around doing it with their kids....it hilarious to me! But the kids don't know and if adults don't jack it up for them, they'll just keep dancing. And yeah he should have took the Ho word out if he was going to release it on the radio and t.v.

To # 20

If you take all the "'ho's'" and "bit*hes" and "slammin' and rammin" and "po-po" out of rappin', there's not much left.

*grin*

21. 5. I can't believe they're teaching kids this dance. Does anyone, but me, know what's meant in the lyrics by "Superman that ho". It's a term for ejaculating on a womens back while she's sleeping and put a t-shirt to cover the "stain", when it dries is looks like a a superman cape. Now, isn't that appropriate?

I can understand what you're saying. There are a lot of things that little kids listen to that are so subliminal they don't know what the hell it is. That's okay. The dance is hella fun to do. My son taught me. He just thinks it applies to the dance he's doing. Which is called the Superman. Naivety is beautiful aint' it

23. I went and looked up the lyrics last week. I never really knew what he was saying...It's all very sexual in content. Not just the superman part. A radio show where I live had a debate on it the other day. There were so many parents who had no idea what the song was about. Some even had kids who had that phrase on their ringtones. I do agree that if the kids don't know what they are talking about, not push it. But come on, can't artist's come up with a great song that is kid friendly that don't have hidden sexually explicity conotations in it?

27. gaywhiteman: First of all, stop stealing our good screen names before you complain about us listening to your culture's music. There are genuine, gay white men like myself who can't have that screen name since you already took it!

Anyway, I'm not a Soulja Boy fan, but I liked the video. The kid in front was really into it, which was cute, and he made me wish I had stuck with ballet class when I was a little kid.
