Say It Ain't So! Arrest Warrant Out for Hayden?

HaydenAn arrest warrant has reportedly been issued in Japan for Hayden Panettiere. Last month the teen star swam on a surfboard with other activists to confront Japanese fisherman during a bloody dolphin hunt.

Hayden tells TMZ, "Obviously this issue has generated defensive behavior on the part of both the Japanese Authorities and Fishermen. I have grown up hearing – and adhering to – this phrase: 'condemnation without investigation dooms one to everlasting ignorance.' We must unite as a world to solve our increasing international environmental crises. We can no longer hide behinid out-dated, senseless cultural traditions and lazy, bad habits that are resulting in the annihilation of our planet's resources and the extinction of our species. As a spokesperson for the 'Declare Yourself' campaign, I encourage everyone – particularly young people – to educate themselves on the candidates and their positions on environmental issues. Every generation has its own challenge; this is the challenge of our generation."

93. "'I have grown up hearing – and adhering to – this phrase: 'condemnation without investigation dooms one to everlasting ignorance.' "

Grew up hearing it my ass! Did a quote search on google, maybe. Had her publicist do the search and write the statement, more likely. It turns my stomach to hear about the dolphins, but UGH, this girl is so arrogant and pretentious. I agree with #50.

94. And then we wonder why the rest of the world thinks that we are arrogant. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we are trying to impose our ideas and beliefs on the rest of the world. Maybe the recent problems with unsafe children's toys being shipped here from Japan and China have something to do with this. I feel bad for the dolphins, don't get me wrong. But, I feel worse for our own children who are being abused, starved, etc in our own country and none of these so-called Hollywood do gooders are doing anything for them. Why does Hollywood feel the need to go to another country to try to change the world? Why not start in their own backyard?

95. It's absolutely amazing that these days you do something right and get punished for it! This retarded arrest warrant just goes to show how backwards those Japanese fishermen are in their outdated thinking, all the more reason that THEY are the ones consigned to extinction, rather than the dolphins.
As for Hayden she is American and so they can't do anything! HA.

96. She is just a little girl but it is good to see celebrities who think about more than just themselves, especially when it comes to our environment. You go girl!

97. Number one, anyone who writes in all caps are annoying. Number two, who cares if she was trying to do something that she believes in. Screw everyone who thinks she did something wrong. Are you going to tell me that the next time you stand up for something you believe in, you deserve scrunity? You are ignorant. Plain and simple.

98. Oh to be young and have such a care-free life, that one could burden ones self with a situation in another country that has nothing to do with ones self. Oh to shed tears for baby dolphins in the slaughter, instead of my miserable, poor, life.........must be bliss........Americans are snobs. I know, because I have been an American since the day I was born, and I have lived in this country for over 34 years now. Having hung with many an American, I know....Americans are self-centered, nosey, egotistical snobs......the GREATEST country in the world, I tell you!

102. Sorry, as much as I love dolphins, I have to agree with the others who say that Hayden had no business doing what she did. Who the hell is she to impose HER beliefs on another culture? She thinks that just because she's a celebrity, everyone should just automatically listen to her and stop fishing just because SHE doesn't like it! And the great gall of her to call it a "senseless cultural tradition"! Somehow, I don't think the people who have to do that for a living (to put food on the table and clothing on their family's backs) would consider it "senseless" at all, but of course, what would an arrogant little Hollywood brat know about that?

Have to love all these ignorant celebrity %^&holes who think they can waltz into other countries and tell the people there what to do and what not to do or what's supposedly right and what's supposedly wrong. Send the little Hollywood princess back to Japan and let her face the people (who work a heck of a lot harder than she does for a lot less money!) she was so judgmental of! They have every right to be angry.

104. I understand this girl's intentions and her outrage at what she was seeing, but I agree with several posts on here, where do we draw the line? Look at what they do to Homosexuals in Iran or that girl in Saudi Arabia who just today was sentenced to 200 lashes and 9 months in jail for being gang raped? Why not fight there? Those are HUMANS being tortured, not animals. (and I'm not saying that animals are not important, I have 5 cats and would tear someone apart if they tried to hurt my animals)

Or what about all the atrocities in our own country? All this girl or anyone interested in animal rights needs to do is go to Farm Sanctuary's Website (www.farmsanctuary.org) to see what is happening to animals in our own country! I actually visited the Farm Sanctuary in upstate NY and what I saw would break anyone's hearts. Animals here are just as important as the animals in any other country.

It all boils down to what is culturally acceptable in one country could be viewed as an atrocity in another place. I truly don't think that this was some PR stunt on this girl's part. I think she's just a young 18 year old kid who saw something bad happened and just acted, without really thinking things through. Honestly what would any of us do if we saw someone beating a dog or a cat? I can't say that if I had saw what she saw that I might not have tried to stop it myself, without thinking of the reprucussions.

In the end, I guess it is just nice to see a young actress getting into trouble for something that isn't self-destructive (Brittney, Lindsay anyone??).

I applaud her for what she did. If she can't go to Japan anymore, well oh well. She probably never would want to go back anyway.

105. Surfer Todd Endris owes his life to a pod of bottlenose dolphins.

In late August, Endris was surfing in Monterey, California when a great white shark came out of nowhere and hit him three times, peeled the skin of his back and chewed his right leg to the bone.

Endris needed a miracle to get away from the shark. But then a pod of dolphins formed a protective ring around the injured surfer which allowed him to get to shore.

After four months, Endris is still going through physical therapy to repair muscle damage from the shark attack.

The shark was estimated at 12 to 15 feet long. Endris said the shark came out of nowhere and hit him first when he was sitting on his surfboard. Fortunately, Endris’ stomach was against the surfboard, so his internal organs were protected from the shark.

When the shark tried to attack his right leg, Endris was able to kick the shark in the head and snout with his left leg until the shark let go.

The dolphins then circled Endris which kept the shark away. This allowed Endris to get back on his surfboard and ride back to the shore and safety.

It is uncertain why dolphins protect humans, but according to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, dolphins have been rescuing humans since ancient Greece.

Last year in New Zealand, four lifeguards were saved from sharks by dolphins forming a protective ring around them.

*****
These creatures go out of their way to help and protect us... yet we go on letting the Japs slaughter them while they're still alive. SICK. GO HAYDEN!!!
