I'm not defending Dr. Phil but you need to look into what it takes to get a PhD. It's not exactly a cake walk.

MD = 4 yrs undergrad degree, 4 yrs medical school, + internship then residency in specialty.
PhD = 4 yrs undergrad degree, 2 or more years to get a Masters, including writing a masters thesis, then several more years of study, at least 3, doctoral thesis, before a PhD is awarded. A PhD has been in school a minimum of 9 years by the time he's awarded a doctorate. In terms of schooling, MD's and PhD's go to school about the same length of time.

In terms of years of schooling, they are about the same.

Do you really think the only "real" doctors are MD's? What about your dentist?

An MD is a Medical Doctor. There are lots of other doctors out there that went to just as difficult classes to get their doctorate in other fields.

Above is what I found on the Dr. Phil Website...So if they are doing a story without using the tabloid stuff, please tell me, why do they have tabloid insiders as their "expert" contributers to the piece?

Dr. Phil is nothing but a media whore.

The last thing Britney needs is another one of those in her life. The poor girl has had no foundatoin of vantage point from which to base her life decisions on, she has been treated like a commodaty (sp?) her whole life and now that she has children and realizes she is not a doll for others to control I don't think she knows how to handle that. It's not like she has support of anyone in her life, money can't make people care about you,

So far she has many a couple of good decisions, she cut that soul sucking vampire that she calls mama out of her life and she refused to speak to that whack job media whore who calls himself a doctor (btw he really is a pyschologist I know that, he is just a really terrible one).

Sidenote...Does anyone remember in the beginning of his career he once said he was not good at private practice because he lacked patience and despised listening to others whine about what seemed to him obvious? Yeah, i am actually in therapy, and if my therapist had said that in the past I would not give her talents as a pyschologist much credit.

While the pop star has been holed up in Santa Barbara with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, his agency, Finalpixx, has been shopping photos of the pair to the media for $1 million. The agency is also selling video footage of the two, in which Britney is believed to be speaking.

CelebTV has posted footage of the couple in Santa Barbara (where, a source tells PageSix.com, Adnan has a relative) going on a Starbucks run and holding hands. At one point, Britney lifts up her shirt and rubs her belly as the married photographer plants a kiss on her cheek.

In a second video, a pants-less Britney, wearing a large shirt and oversize jacket, can be seen sharing her lollipop with Adnan while they lounge on the balcony of their hotel room.

Meanwhile, though Dr. Phil McGraw visited Britney in the hospital on Saturday morning at the request of her family to scare her straight, there are reports that her parents, Jamie and Lynne, are having second thoughts about appearing on the tough love doc’s talk show for an episode set to air tomorrow.

70. This woman needs help IMMEDIATELY. Her downward spiral is heartbreaking. I hope she gets the help she needs so she can be a good mother to her children. Those kids need their mother. EVERY child needs their mother. I know everyone just LOVES to bash this woman, but I don't know how much more of this she can take without it ending in yet another Hollywood Tragedy. Have some compassion people. This is someone's daugher, sister and mother to two young toddlers. She is a real person going through a mental breakdown under the microcope of the media. Her parents for once in her life need to do the right thing for their now adult child, and get a court order to commit her before she ends her life. If Kevin Federline has ANY decency at all, he needs to back off and let this woman get the mental treatment she needs to be the mother of HIS children.

73. First of all, he was there at the request of Britney's family. While maybe not a totally legitimate reason for being there. At least he didn't just show up completely uninvited. Second of all, the guy is a certified psychologist. Regardless of his personal agenda, he is qualified to help her. She is a public figure, why is it such a bad thing that another public figure tries to help her? If he has the relationship he claims to have with the Spears' family, who the hell are we to say he's only doing it for the spotlight. Maybe, just maybe, he has a genuine interest in trying to save Britney from herself. Someone has to step in before she pulls an Anna Nicole.....

75. Dr. Phil is a Psychologist. Not a made up Dr. Anyone who has serious mental health issues knows that you see a psychiatrist, for your medication monitoring that they don't do therapy as well so often you need a psychologist to help you mangage life issues surrounding your illness. Brittany may well need both.
I don't believe Dr. Phils intentions were self serving. I believe he was there at the invitation of family members that he wanted to help. I belive he wants people to understand that she is ill, not just a freak show. Anyone who lives with a family member with a mental illness can tell you how hard it is when the ill person does not think anything is wrong.
I am bipolar and have anxiety issues. My sister was bipolar and committed suicide 3 years ago. SO UNTILL YOU HAVE A TRUE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE You don't know what you are talking about !
