Lohan Distraught Over Ledger's Death

TMZ has learned Lindsay Lohan was seen sobbing inside La Scala with friends DJ AM and Samantha Ronson -- as the group consoled each other after learning of Heath Ledger's death.


Our cameras tried to get comment from Lohan about her former party pal's passing as she left the restaurant, but she was silent, and hid her face from cameras as her driver drove off. We're told the two were "very close" for some time.

ask much as i dislike lindsay lohan, i feel kind of bad that she's getting mauled by the paparazzi in a time of mourning. we would never do that to any of our family members, so it just seems cruel.

I am not a Lohan fan at all, but I feel so bad for her in this video. The paparazzi needs to ease up..... her close friend just died. So sad. :(

Uh, she's not distraught beyond words. Look closely at the vid and you'll see she smacked her head on the top of the door while getting into her SUV. In pain? Sure, but not over Heath.
