Although she's in rehab for a substance abuse problem, Calvin Klein has tapped Eva Mendes to be the face of its Fall 2008 perfume advertising campaign. It's the scent of a clean and sober woman!
In a press announcement released today -- but prepared prior to TMZ's story about Mendes checking into the Cirque Lodge -- the fashion house said Eva "embodies the sexy, provocative essence of the Calvin Klein brand and we are thrilled that she will be the newest iconic beauty to represent Calvin Klein Fragrances."
A rep for Calvin Klein issued the following statement to TMZ, "We support Eva during this difficult time and respect her decision to seek professional help."

Calvin Klein's world doesn't require drug free living. His agenda is you use these women to make as much money using them to sell his cloths and to discard them when they are not useful any more. This is what this industry is all about. Always has been and always will be. Got any blow anyone?

I admire her for her strength in getting help. Every day spent at the mercy of drugs or alcohol is a wasted day. She is smart to get her butt into a treatment center. She deserves support.

This is what secular progressive is all about. Calvin Klein is just that. He is a Liberal Democrat who personifies the beliefs of a liberal democrat. If you have a drug problem, no big deal. I believe you have the right to do whatever you want to do. So I will hire you regardless and throw you right back in the fire until you are of no use for me any more or self-destruct on your own. Now that's American. And that's being a Democrat.
