The 71-year-old TV icon resurfaced at a NYC charity event recently, looking flawless.
In 1980, Mary's only child accidentally shot and killed himself. In 1981, she received an Oscar nomination for playing the mother of a suicide victim in "Ordinary People."
Mary has been sober ever since she went to rehab at the Betty Ford Center in 1984.

12. She is a life long iabetic. They usually conk out at about 50. She looks good she's 71. She is kind to animals, even the pap animals. She's a really great human who has done a lot for our world. I respect her and you should too
