I sincerely hope he can have some peace instead of constant harassment by news and photographers. Battling cancer is difficult enough without having to do it in the public eye. Battling one of the deadliest cancers must be 10X as difficult. He deserves some privacy.

Cigarette smoking definitely puts you at risk..don't write about things you know nothing about!

Yes, we know that researches have said smoking is bad and causes everything. No one is saying smoking is GOOD. What we're saying is: What's the point of making fun of Patrick Swayze now that he's been diagnosed with a terminal illness? If you think it's funny, good for you, you should apply to write for TMZ.
As for your smoking facts: This isn't a smoking/non-smoking forum or debate. What are facts for one researcher are not facts for another. While there may be a RISK involved, don't go implying people are stupid because SMOKING has never been credited as being a DIRECT cause for cancer of the pancreas. Risk means just that. Don't say "figures" and "research says" without quoting your research if you want to be taken seriously.
Bottom line: Whatever your beliefs are on smoking and cancer, the article was completely idiotic.

My very own Mom passed away from this type of Cancer at 52 years old and she was a major smoker- I say Patrick enjoy every day as it comes!

Some of you really need to research on this, Pancreatic cancer IS RELATED to smoking as well. Smoking is not good for anything. Period.

The Surgeon General's report on smoking has been out since 1964 -44 YEARS. Everyone since then KNOWS the risks, KNOWS all the cancers associated with smoking. Actually smoking has been linked to pancreatic cancer, but so has drinking, eating red meat etc. That being said, he;s a grown man and it's his body

Coming from a smokers point of view...
He has a form of cancer that he has a VERY low chance of surviving..
If you knew you were going to die anyways, would you put yourself through the pains and anxiety of withdrawl or just spend the rest of your time, doing whatever the hell you want. Why add more anxiety?
GET OUT OF THE "SMOKING KILLS" MIND-SET AND SEE HIS LIFE FROM HIS EYES.
Anyone who's smoked his amount for that amount of time, trying to quit when your pretty much facing death, is ridiculously hard and stressful.
