R.I.P.
Martha's Dead Dog: It's a Good Thing?

Martha Stewart can make a beautiful occasion out of any dinner party, wedding, even a stock trade gone bad -- but the carcass of your dead dog?!

The ex-con media mogul's nearly 13-year-old dog, Paw Paw, died of renal failure on Saturday and she's posted a creepy pic on her blog of the expired pup -- entombed in a sheet with an adorable little bow wrapped around him. Death is pretty!

Just imagine what Martha could do with your Aunt Sally's cremated remains?!

31. dont you have anything better to report on than a grieving woman and her dog. If you read the previous story you can tell how beautiful it actually is and your making it into somthing ugly. Knock it off!!

32. It's ok to love your dog and give him a proper burial but not necessary to post pictures of the corpse. Grieve in private.

33. HATE TO TELL YOU THIS BUT...ACCORDING TO VETS, MARTHA HAS IT RIGHT.....When you have multiple animals that live day-in, day-out together; when one passes you are supposed to do EXACTLY what Martha did. In letting the live dogs smell the remains of the dog that passed away, they know the dog died. If you suddenly remove the dog after it dies, the other dogs in the household will continously be "looking" or "wondering" where the dead animal went. By letting the dogs sniff and realize the other dog has passed away, it allows them to mourn and know exactly what happened...very similar to us as humans...if someone in our lives suddenly went absent, we would wonder and not be at ease until we knew the fate of that person. Hate to tell you all this but...as usual, Martha has it right!

34. R.I.P. Paw Paw

People who hate Martha Stewart desire to be remain classless....good manners and creativity are a choice?! She's one of the best domestic and professional role models on behalf of women of ALL economic backgrounds in America and around the world. Even with the painful loss of her beloved pet, she found the creativity to beautifully prepare its body for burial (just as humans are prior to burial).

Before I had my beloved Henry's soul released (due to kidney failure) with the help of the veternarian, I went to the florist and had a special bouquet of tiny pink roses prepared, wrote a love letter from his favorite person (me), included a small piece of artwork from our son, photo of our family, and his favorite toy all created with him. We later had a small ceremony and released his ashes in the Pacific Ocean.

Hopefully, those of you who criticize Martha Stewart will one day have an opportunity to enjoy a loving relationship with a special pet. They teach us about love and it is our responsibility to help their soul's evolve even in physical death!

35. So what she did is creepy to some people. But we all feel different about our dogs. Personally I understand the pretty burial practice as well as posting the photo of it. The thing is, decoration and such is who Martha is and it is what has made her who she is today. That is her "thing", and a big part of her life to the point that that is how she knows best to grieve. She probably felt like that giving her dog a beautiful burial wrapping was the least that she could do. How could she NOT do so? And as for posting the photos, that is just another way of coping. It is not necessarily a publicity stunt, either. If I did something like that, I would post it too, because guess what? DEATH IS A PART OF LIFE. If you ask me, Martha's really rather got a healthy perspective of this fact, and is respecting all aspects of her dogs life, including it's death... you share everything else, why not that? I would share because I would like for people to understand more about what it was really like. So leave her alone.

And for the record, I personally do NOT like Martha, believe it or not. I just think that picking on her after her dog died was a low blow, and everyone is being awfully judgmental about it too. Her dog died, be nice. What is it with TMZ and picking on people whose loved ones die, lately?

37. 33.: It's ok to love your dog and give him a proper burial but not necessary to post pictures of the corpse. Grieve in private."

It WAS private. It was on her website which is visited by her fans who have probably heard about her dog for many years and feel for her loss.

TMZ turned it into a freakshow.

38. I lost 2 pets recently and I had both of them almost 20 years. I did not need to see this on TMZ, so all you warm hearted prople do not presume the negative comments here are heartless. Get over yourselves. This is a gossip site not an obituary.

39. As odd as it might seem, it probably will help her other dogs. My 12 year old German Shepherd died Monday and my other German Shepherd has been looking for him...she runs around the house looking in rooms, waits at the door. She is in mourning...dogs mourn the loss of their playmates. This might actually help Martha's dogs. Not sure if I would have posted the picture, though. For me, that'd be a private thing.

45. If you take the time to real the blog posting and look at ALL of the photos you'll see that she did a touching tribute to a loving friend. I hope I can pay as much respect to my lab Latte when she passes!
Get a life people, the world is mean enough without your mean comments.
