Star Jones and Barbara Walters are staging their own version of "The Hills" -- just 50 years later!

Star Jones unleashed a verbal ass-whooping on Barbara Walters today, telling Us Weekly, "It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book ... It speaks to her true character."

Star is referring to the revelation Walters made that she had an affair with then-married Senator Edward Brooke during the 1970s -- and the fact that Walters claims in her new book Jones forced her to lie on "The View" about Jones' gastric bypass surgery.

For her part, Walters' rep refused to comment back, saying, "I will not dignify this with a comment. Barbara's written words say it all!"

17. Star Jones needs to start telling the truth and dealing with the truth in her own life. I believe Barbara and she has a right to write about her life. Star Jone just lives with BS like that stupid wedding and her whole life. Star is a Bitch- and Bitches come in all colors.

Barbara Walters has had the career those of us in the tvnews biz admire and respect...did she divulge too much to sell books? i don't know, it was her judgement call, not ours...
better to tell the truth then to tell everyone, doing pilates help the fat pig lose a ton of weight!
Star get a life!! she must be so pissed off she can't be on tv and so cannot get any freebies...wow she now has to pay her own way without mooching every company she can think of...
she should go back to being a lawyer, and return to chasing ambulances...that's her style TACKY TO THE MAX...

I never thought I would say this, but I agree with Star Jones one-hundred percent.

I have lost any semblance of respect for Barbara Walters. I hope the book money helps her sleep at night.

That's not the issue. The issue is what she is writing about OTHER people's lives.

She does not have the moral right to inflict pain on innocent bystanders for the sake of book sales.

29. I'm no fan of Star Jones by any means but have to agree with her on this one. Barbra should have kept her affair to herself, even if the Senator is now divorced, her opening her big mouth still has to hurt his family.

30. Star Jones true color is showing...green with envy! She has no class and no talent and will serve as just one more bad lawyer joke. If it weren't for women like Barbara Walters paving the way women like Star Jones would never have found a place on television. Frankly she wasn't very good at it so good riddance...and please, Star, SHUT UP!!
