Star Jones and Barbara Walters are staging their own version of "The Hills" -- just 50 years later!

Star Jones unleashed a verbal ass-whooping on Barbara Walters today, telling Us Weekly, "It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book ... It speaks to her true character."

Star is referring to the revelation Walters made that she had an affair with then-married Senator Edward Brooke during the 1970s -- and the fact that Walters claims in her new book Jones forced her to lie on "The View" about Jones' gastric bypass surgery.

For her part, Walters' rep refused to comment back, saying, "I will not dignify this with a comment. Barbara's written words say it all!"

46. Bawbra got where she is in life because of the thugs that were part of her father's life, sleeping with many powerful men and ruining many people's life. So why be shocked now, It's not like she had TALENT or CLEAR diction and pronunciation. Star needs to "get" that she was "used" by Bawbra too.

47. I was one of the people who wrote in to The View, B.W. & Getty, to tell them how disgusted I was w/ Star Jones mooching off companies to "sponsor" her wedding! I found it distastful, low class, and BORING! I'm one of the regular viewers who begged the show to stop her. Elizabeth almost went down the same path with her segments on baby items, but halted it quickly. I had complained about her too. I think this is just Ms. Jones' blowing steam out of her butt because she harbors bad feelings for not having her contract renewed.... Viewers were also sick of Jones' attempt to hide her stomach surgery & claim her weight loss was just hard work (although, there was much hard work involved). Viewers didn't appreciate that treatment & loss faith in her and interest in her. The show was the toilet by that time. And if Star Jones really said that, she'd better hope there are no skeletons in her closet 'cause they're bound to rattle around enough to let people in on the facts and she might be reading about her own escapades! If Jones had stayed, the show would have been long gone.

48. Even though I hate to admit it, Star is right on this one. Walters should not have to resort to this at her age....to sell a book.

49. I cant stand either of these women....but Star is right. Babs is a ho...and the only thing she and her lover were worried about...during their affair...were their careers. Some things need to be taken to the grave... and for her to flaunt that was disgusting.

Babs and Star need to go away. It's time for someone to block "The View". Cancel it already ABC. I've ditched it a long time ago, it serves no purpose anymore. And, when that day does come, please for the love of all that is holy, may we never see or hear Elizabeth Hasselback AGAIN!!!!

51. Barbara is telling stories about other peoples lives. She has no business including Stars personal business in her book. I agree with Star on this. Those other broads on the View better watch their backs. Looks like Blabber Babs will do whatever it takes to make some money and that includes spilling business that isn't her's!!!! Of all that great people Bab's has met and interviewed, all the places she has been to and events she has witnessed she chose to talk for 1/2 an hour on Oprah, another media Queen who totally lost my respect today, about Star and Rosie, BABS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

56. Unfortunately, marital affairs have been going on forever and, especially, in high-powered and monied social circles. If you look at the timing of her relationship with the first black senator, he must have been (also) having an affair with his present (second) wife who's black though the disgusting Star Jones (who has been "married" to a gay man) castigates Barbara Walters.

The present election cycle is demonstrative of the double-standard for women as opposed to men and so Barbara Walters is criticized for being authentic in her memoirs regarding her life while the black man is protected by Star Jones. Maybe one day she'll be lucky enough to get laid by a REAL MAN.
